Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Just to double check, it is approx 9:20pm for me as I post this. Central time is thus 2:20pm? So, game time is in about 5hr from now, correct?

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
.... Where the XP and loot don't matter! Due to the late hour last night, I skipped the loot.
When searching the remains of the trampled camp, the PCs can recover four barrels of fine red wine (frozen) worth 200 gp each, crates packed with 24 place settings of gold-and-enamel plates marked with the arms of Irrisen (the White Witches' land) with matching silverware (worth 100 gp per setting), and a total of 15,000 gp in assorted valuables and goods. The ogres and frost giants had simple, mundane gear. Graff, their lieutenant, had a +1 greataxe. You might be able to skin the pelts of the various animals.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Ah, DM, do I have time for a quick spell immediately after the battle or has that window already passed? One of my more interesting tricks regarding the dead only works if I start casting within a minute of the target's death.
Also, I didn't have the best situational awareness as a player (given the technical issues), but my character should have had a pretty good view. Do I know which giant was in charge?

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Pretty sure the leader was the one Face killed, the only named guy.
Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Journeyman: Yeah, you know that the leader was the guy Face's character defeated.
For this fight, I'm going to say no to having time to cast the spell. Sorry.

Charlcye has her 18-month checkup tomorrow, which includes shots. Depending on how she's feeling, I may have to cancel the session.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Thanks for the heads up. She's halfway to the terrible twos already? Time flies between sessions.
My internet access is sketchy enough that it's a wonder that I haven't lost a session already. If you find time though, I would appreciate the results of my debriefing Artargilus on what he knows of the rest of the Veil, both from past experience and scouting ahead out-of-body. Unless something breaks into the dragon's den in the next 15-30min of game time, my wizard has spells to prepare.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
It seems I jinxed myself. My internet is down again, recovery time unknown. I'll keep checking in and trying to find an alternet access, but I may be unavailable to play this evening.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Turns out that Charlcye didn't need shots today (but wore herself out crying and screaming anyway at the stethescope and ear thermometer). We should be good to play tonight.
Journeyman, I'll get a summary typed up ASAP. Also, I still need a copy of your character sheet.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Journeyman:
- Spoiler:
- The dragon tells you easily about the two groups that had passed through its lair. The first group, led by a White Witch, forced their way past the dragon by sacrificing several of the less important members of their retinue. The witch carried a symbol of authority from the White Throne, which made the dragon reluctant to slay all of them--in fear of incurring Baba Yaga's wrath once again. The second group was composed of frost giants, wolves, and led by a demon. These giants were twisted by some curse (Knowledge Religion check) which the dragon was unfamiliar with. They bought passage with promises of breaking the curse of Baba Yaga and freeing the dragon from this tomb. Both groups were searching for a "demon lord's soul."
As for the fortress itself, the dragon knows very little. It knows that the place is haunted from the ethereal plane, and that Baba Yaga placed traps and guardians within.

Potential problem. My internet's been an absolute bear the past couple days. Called tech support, and we're set to receive a new modem soon, but just be warned that I might be unavailable on Thursday. =/

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
Conversely, I do have reliable internet now, but I'm pulling 24hr duty Thur-Fri. The Staff Duty NCO is usually cool with the runner taking off for a few hours at night, so I may still be able to play. I won't know for sure until Thursday when I actually report. I'll let you know either way.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
If we don't game this week, I'm tempted to turn the weekly sessions back over to Obliv & Kingmaker (as of the 29th). I will be too busy in September to DM.

Re: One Shot! The Witchwar Legacy
With reliable internet access restored, I should be good for gaming from now until at least mid-Oct when I return stateside. Deployment shouldn't take me out of the loop until sometime in Jan. Does that give me time/opportunity to play in the next chapter of Kingmaker?

We should be good to go tonight, unless Lady's internet starts cutting out (since she hosts the maptool server).

Tech guy came and went; we have a new router. Assuming I can tell said new router to let maptool in, should be okay.
