A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Swifto Thu Aug 23, 2012 7:00 pm

"In today's issue of the Olorunium news, we bring you an exclusive and very rare interview with the General and mascot of the newly-formed neighbouring kingdom, Iomrall!"
Jaekah cocked an eyebrow. "Wait, mascot?"

1. What is your full name?
Jaekah. That's all I remember of my name.

2. Where and when were you born?
A village of respected centaurs, that's all I remember.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Scholars of some kind.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I have an older brother somewhere out there. I wouldn't be able to recognize him now.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
In the kingdom of Imrul, with my friends Elegy and Errol.

6. What is your occupation?
Hunter? Bodyguard? Mediator? Kind of a mix of all three.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
A bit small compared to most centaurs, but with enough strength to match any of them. A red scarf flies from my neck, and across my body are strange markings that bring me good luck. Long brown hair tied back in a ponytail.
That's it, really.

8. To which social class do you belong?
The 'I am larger than you are' class.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Not that I've encountered.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
My throwin' arm is my right.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I've been told it's deep and loud and resonates a lot.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Can we just go already?"

13. What do you have in your pockets?
What're those?

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Little patience for arguing or wasting time. Waiting doesn't bother me, so long as it's productive, such as waiting for prey to move.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
A fight for survival, every day and every hour of my life.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My older brother getting yelled at for reading a book.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Pfffffffff!

18. Did you enjoy school?
Not really, but the wild was a very good teacher. Taught me to focus on what I need, and nothing else.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Myself. Well, I met a faerie dragon who taught me to speak Draconic, but other than that... Self-taught.
Well, until Elegy came along, at least.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I ran afoul of a strong boar when I was young, and while he almost killed me, I liked his style. He sure was tasty.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Fuck if I can remember.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Alive.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
A good hunt. Good eats is important.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
A knack for surviving with nothing, I suppose.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
They were all dicks! All those woodland creatures either ran away at the sight of me or tried to kill me!

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
I'll let you know if it happens. (DC 15 perception to notice that he's blushing ever so slightly)

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Why the fuck are you so curious about that?

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Does a centaur count? Considering how I lived growing up, I don't think that made me all that different from whatever else was around.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Meeting Elegy, definitely.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Take a guess.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Takin' down a werewolf pretty much single-handily ranks up there.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Not sayin' nothin' about that one.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Went on a mad and confused rampage in a city. God knows how many I might have killed in that.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
I might be recognized in that one city, but other than that, I try to leave well enough alone.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When Elegy disappeared in the fae storm that gave her her magic. I was sucked in too, but only for a second. She was in there.... Quite a bit longer.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
When I first met Elegy and she calmed me down, then she explained what I'd done in that city rampage. I didn't feel too proud after that.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I don't waste thought on stuff like that.

38. What is your best memory?
When Elegy first got her magic and we were living in a forest clearing. Happy times then.

39. What is your worst memory?
Stompin' around like a maniac in that town, destroying god knows what. Ugh.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Realist.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Oh, just take a guess.

42. What are your religious views?
Meh.

43. What are your political views?
Meh. I let Elegy handle that.

44. What are your views on sex?
I'll let you know when I find out.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
If they devote their lives to bringing pain to others, I won't hesitate.
If I'm hungry, I'll kill to eat. I will not hunt for sport.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Knowingly neglecting to help.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Uh... No! 'Course not! Why would I even... y'know...

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
If you're happy with what you do.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I'm talkin' to you about all this, aren't I?

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
If you aren't a dick, then I don't mind you.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
There's a number of things I won't do. All of them have to do with the fact that I'm not human.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I don't think you need me to answer that.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
If they aren't being a jerk to me, then I'll treat them fairly.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Gee lemme think I think I'm gonna have to say Kesten!!
*smacks reporter*

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Actually, I'm going to say Errol. He does what he wants no matter what anyone says. I respect people with the stones to do that.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Well there's Elegy, who's pretty short, and then Errol, who has short hair, and I suppose Oleg. I like the cut of his jib. He likes a good meal and drink, and I can respect that.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nope nope nope nope.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
*taps hoof on ground*

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Well I suppose four legs will need to be a prerequisite.

60. How close are you to your family?
I have no idea where they live, and if I did, Idunno what they look like now. They won't know what I look like either.

I wonder how they're doing.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
I have to babysit Errol a lot, does that count?

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Usually if I'm going for help it means I'm bleeding badly. Elegy is able to take care of that pretty good.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Usually they go to me for that.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Not many, probably.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Much as I dislike the stag lord, I almost have to respect him for making his own bastardized kingdom out in the middle of nowhere.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I'm usually the one trying to keep them from killing each other. I'd rather have nothing to do with arguments, though.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
That's Elegy's job, not mine.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I don't mind big groups. Everyone is shorter than me anyways.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Only a select few.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
A good hunt, taking my time to cook a good kill to perfection, and making something neat out of the hide.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
I started feeling quite attached to my red scarf lately, for some reason.

72. What is your favorite color?
I would say red, but there's sometimes that my vision clouds over in red and I lose myself. Sometimes I get scared of what or who I might hurt in that state.
Not DURING the red, of course, but every so often the thought comes up.

73. What is your favorite food?
A good, thick wild boar, cooked and gutted and glazed with honey, slow-roasted over a spit for a few hours. Mmmm.....

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Stars.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
When I'm bored, but not hungry, sometimes I'll chase something quick. Keeps me fit and sharp.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Does adrenaline count?

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
What's different about Saturdays that I have to do something other than the usual?

78. What makes you laugh?
Errol has his moments.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
If a leader isn't taking proper care of those under him, believe me, I'll be having words with that leader.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Go for a run.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Hunt, pummel a tree, yell and scream, there's many ways to vent pent-up frustrations.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I leave the plans to the others. They just need to point me in a direction.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Arguing when it's sometimes really not needed.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up early, hunt me some breakfast, cook breakfast for me and others, then do what we gotta for the day.
If I don't get my morning hunt, then it's probably for a good reason.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
Simplicity.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Fucking mind-magic.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I was a little smarter sometimes...

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I got nothing to hide.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
How can I be messy when I don't keep much of anything around?

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
1. I ain't never seen someone huck a javelin as far as me.
2. No one's ever beat me in an arm wrestle yet.
3. If I need to, I can carry all my friends to safety at once.
-3. If it has to do with magic, I don't understand much.
-2. Understanding high and noble society.
-1. Reading, obviously.

91. Do you like yourself?
Oh man, if you want a better answer than I can give, go ask Errol over there this question!

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
What the hell else would I do with my life?

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Keeping someone safe.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
With any luck, still a General in a kingdom.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Bested in honourable combat by an understanding opponent.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
3. Find the biggest, most intimidating thing to hunt, and then try to kill it.
2. Give Errol a pat on the back and tell him to take over my job.
1. Properly confess.

....Not necessarily in that order.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Whatever you like best about me.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Simple, strong, reliable.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Simple, fast, impatient.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
For god's sake go outside once in a fucking while you skinny, lazy ass. THAT COMPUTER THING ISN'T YOUR DAMN LIFE.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Oblivion Thu Aug 23, 2012 8:39 pm

1. What is your full name?
Tatya Markosya Dyalov.

2. Where and when were you born?
I am 33 winters old and was born in a small village in the forests of southwestern Vechen.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My parents' names were Markos and Nika. They are simple forest farmers and animal keepers. They were, at least as I remember, warm and caring people and raised me well, but I doubt they would ever have the heart to leave home.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Not that I am aware of.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I don't live really anywhere, I'm a vagabond. I travel primarily with my friend Melania, my familiar Ksusha, and my guard dog Grom.

6. What is your occupation?
Herbalist, Alchemist, Vodka Brewer, Medicine-Woman, Scribe...

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
This is how an artist was given description to paint me:
"Tatya is a woman of moderate figure and build for a halfling. Her auburn hair is long, mostly straight, and hangs down to the middle of her back; however a few locks have been braided to drape in front of and around her slightly-pointed ears. Her eyes are dark hazel, her skin slightly tanned, and her ears adorned with many piercings filled with studs and loops of simple metals and small, inexpensive gems. A pair of common spectacles rests in front of her eyes.

She dresses practically, wearing simple clothing for warmth and comfort rather than to display herself or to burden herself with armor. Her normal clothing is a long-sleeved tunic under a vest if the weather is warm or a thick fur-lined coat if it is cold, with bodice and ankle-length dress over leggings and traveling boots, both of the latter padded or fur-lined during cold weather. She carries a satchel with the strap crossing over one shoulder and across her chest to the opposite hip, within which she carries most of her at-hand necessities - powders, materials, foci and the like for her spellcasting as well as potions, crafting materials, and vodka. A few daggers are slipped into her belt alongside her holstered pistol, and at least one knife is concealed in a boot."

8. To which social class do you belong?
I was born a commoner, and have no real aspirations to greater positions. I'm mostly removed from such classifications, now.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Not that I know of! Vodka does wonders for the immune system.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Left.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Low-pitched for a woman and my accent is rather thick, I'm told.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Outside the chants invoked in my witchcraft, I find myself using gospodi a lot. It's loosely translated "dear gods" and is generally used as an expression of exasperation.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
A few daggers, a wand of prestidigitation, some spellcrysts, several flasks of vodka, a pocketwatch, a compass, a mirror, a couple of scrolls, and my pouch of witchcraft foci.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I probably do, but Mel would have to point them out. I don't really notice them.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Quiet. Not in the peaceful sense, but more in the sense of animals hiding from a predator and trying not to make noise.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My mother baking bread.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I was given a basic education in day-to-day knowledge and tasks by my parents until I was eight, and from there educated by the village at large. At twenty-one I was taken to my apprenticeship as a witch, where I studied for five years before leaving. Beyond that I am highly self-educated, stopping in libraries and scholars' schools whenever able.

18. Did you enjoy school?
If you mean my apprenticeship, no. Much of it was very unpleasant.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
In my apprenticeship. See above.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Not particularly.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My parents and I got along well, with the normal sort of minor bickering that always occurs in a family.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I never really thought about it much. I assumed I would be married and be a housemaker and farmer much like my mother, until I was called to my apprenticeship.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I enjoyed reading, writing, and climbing trees in the forest.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I'm told I was rather bright but reclusive as a child.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Not particularly. If I had friendships they were not long-lived and I do not recall them.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
That is a little private, don't you think?

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
That is VERY private.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I was called t... wait I already answered this!

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
The day I left my apprenticeship. It was also the day I met Ksusha and bonded her as my familiar.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
I'd estimate it an even divide between my mentor and Mel. The former taught me most of the abilities and skills I make much use of and live by, but Mel has been my constant companion for years and we have rubbed off on each other quite a bit.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
If I am responsible for traveling from Idryma to Terra Occasiae, then that - it's magic I did not know myself capable of. I doubt it though, so instead I will say mastering my studies during my apprenticeship.

32. What is your greatest regret?
I'd rather not speak of it.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Likewise.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Probably. I've stolen a few things before. Like the ship we left Idryma in.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Immediately after my apprenticeship ended. No I will not give details.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
I have done some pretty foolish things while drunk. I think at one point I walked out of a window.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I think I am fortunate enough with my life as it is. If I were to change anything, I fear it would only make things worse.

38. What is your best memory?
Mel and I had been tasked by a village elder to find his missing godson. We searched all day for the boy and found him in a highwayman camp, where they were holding him for ransom. We managed to bluff our way in as vagabond thieves, then I laid a hex on the leader while Mel shot down some of the others, then grabbed the boy and I hopped onto Grom and we ran as fast as our legs could carry us. We collapsed when we made it back to the village but we got the boy back safe. I think we just decided to sleep in the square that night because we were too tired to move.

39. What is your worst memory?
Pass.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I like to think of myself as an optimist.

41. What is your greatest fear?
My mentor.

42. What are your religious views?
I worship the ancestral spirits of my people and the powers of the world about us. Such is the core of white witchcraft.

43. What are your political views?
There is a czar, that is his job.

44. What are your views on sex?
I have neither a husband nor a lover and am not in a position to take either at this time.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I am and I have.
Self-defense, in defense of another, or in the execution of a criminal.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
To enslave another ranks rather high in my view. However there are things that can be so much more evil than humans.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Probably.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Enjoy what you do, and do it with people you love.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I can be diplomatic when the need arises. If not, I tend to be rather blunt.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Anyone who does not drink has a weak constitution. Beyond that, I'm pretty flexible.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I will not enslave a man against his will. If that is the judgement of the court as penance for his crimes, I will not object but I will not enforce nor carry out the deed. I have seen too much butchery in slavery.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
At this time, probably only Mel.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I try to have a personable outlook and be friendly with those I encounter unless they make themselves hostile to me.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
I'm not sure I understand the question. Isn't this sort of thing limited to a lover or spouse? I already said I don't have one.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
This is a rather hard decision. I respect all my friends equally, or at least try to, for different reasons. Mel is my stalwart companion and has stood with me for years on end. John's traditions are strange but he abides by them unflinchingly and stands firm in his beliefs. Dame Marchand is ambitious and determined, she knows what she wants and does what is necessary to achieve it. Blaise is loyal despite his reservations, but unafraid to speak his mind. Cecil is curious and constantly questioning and seeking something new. Elea loves what she does and does it because she loves it, regardless of how profitable it may be in the end. Zephyrine pursues her studies with zeal and enthusiasm, despite disdain from those whose traditions she ignores.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Mel and John are my closest companions, but Mel is closer simply because we've been together longer. Mel is moderately built with a military bearing, and never without her rifle. John is stockier, more muscular, and moves with a grace unexpected from his appearance.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
No.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
No.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I haven't really thought about it. It's irrelevant at this time.

60. How close are you to your family?
Not very, at this time. I have not seen them in nearly fifteen years.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No. It's not a logical nor practical thing to do at this time.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Probably Mel, though John is a possibility depending on the situation. If the issue requires great financial resources, Dame Marchand.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Mel. We've been watching each other's backs for years.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Mel.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
My mentor. I'd rather not explain why.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I end up as a mediator in conflicts more often than not. I rarely involve myself in arguments otherwise.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Absolutely.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
No, I'm better at one-on-one communication. I'm a bit small and crowds tend to overlook me, literally.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Sometimes.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Brewing, writing, reading, and spellcraft.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
A gem from my apprenticeship.

72. What is your favorite color?
Never really thought about it. Most of my clothes are brown or green, so I suppose that. Though that's more for practical reasons than preference.

73. What is your favorite food?
A well-made steak. It's been years....

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
History!

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Music and dancing. I'm not very good at either though.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I drink. Heavily. And no I don't want to quit. You don't live long in Vechen if you don't drink, unless you never leave the cities and the warmth of your fireplace.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Sitting by a fire brewing vodka or potions, reading or resting with my friends and animals.

78. What makes you laugh?
Mel tells some pretty good stories.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Slavery, animal abuse, misuse of magic.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Brew something.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Read, brew something, or take Grom for a walk.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I generally don't have time to plan.

83. What are your pet peeves?
I'm not sure what that means. Translate?

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, dress, meditate. Check anything left to steep overnight. Get food, feed Ksusha and Grom. Wake Mel if she isn't already up.
Do any jobs arranged for the day. If none, try to arrange some. If none, probably start moving to the next town. Check any shops or bazaars for useful materials.
When night falls, make camp. Brew anything I intended to work on for the day, otherwise cook dinner. Sleep.
If something doesn't work out, just move on. It's not worth getting twisted up about.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I like to think I have a sharp mind and capable speech.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I'm small, weak, and slow. Also, I have a rather bad temper.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wouldn't mind being taller.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I get along with people, surprisingly.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
My pockets are a bit disorganized.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good:
1. Witchcraft
2. Information
3. Communication

Bad:
1. Anything involving physical strength
2. Recovering from getting angry
3. Forgetting things I don't want to remember

91. Do you like yourself?
Of course. Why wouldn't I?

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
It's the only real occupation I'm suited for.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I'd like to bring my mentor some well-deserved justice. But such is far beyond my capabilities, so I'm settling for "survive".

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
About the same state I'm in now, just a little better at my craft and located somewhere different.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Quietly in a comfortable place, in minimal pain. With Mel if she's still alive, alone or with any other living friends I may have made if not.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
1. Brew as many potions as I could. Leave some supplies for my companions to travel on without me.
2. Hire a scribe to copy all the spells Ksusha and I carry so that their knowledge does not die with me. Perhaps someone else with my skills can make use of them.
3. Find a priest who can send a message to my parents and tell them goodbye.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
That my skills and power did not corrupt me.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Intellectual
Practical
Spontaneous

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Friendly
Intelligent
Secretive

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Get out of the city.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
I killed a Tatzlwyrm by myself. I was pretty proud of it.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?

I do not feel fear.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

I would go back and make sure I never got trapped in the fey realm. Still not sure how that happened anyways.

38. What is your best memory?
Something.......involving a.........person? I don't know. Choose another question.

39. What is your worst memory?
These questions are making my head hurt! Choose another line of inquiry or I'll be forced to stain my blade with your blood!

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Those words mean nothing to me.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Weasels. No wait, dire weasels.
Wait! Strike that question from the records!

People who blindly worship the gods are fools.

I will never find killing unacceptable. It's the easiest way to solve all your problems.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Be born a human. Haha!!

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I like to think I'm a very easy person to read. After all, I can't get away with anything when I hang around these clowns.

What part of "kill all humans" do you not understand?

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?

I don't feel such trivial emotions!

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
She'd have to have nice tits to start with. And long, lovely legs. And gorgeous eyes, maybe even wearing glasses, with a sweet smile. She'd have to be smart too, an intellect to rival my own possibly, and a wonderful singing voice. She would wake me up each morning with a beautiful song. She'd need to have an adventurous spirit too, so she and I could go out to uncover ancient ruins and lost treasure. In simpler terms, she'd need to be as awesome as I am.

60. How close are you to your family?
I'm not.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
I may have a few illegitimate heirs somewhere out there.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
The first step is to swallow my pride and then consult the oracle because a group of weasels tore a vein and I got blood everywhere again.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
The horse tends to get between me and nasty beasts without any intention of keeping me safe.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Probably not many.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The oracle, what with her snide comments and her smug attitude.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Arguing passes the time. I'd be bored otherwise.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Whenever the oracle isn't around.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I used to enjoy them. I would confuse my companions by randomly breaking into song or dance in front of large crowds. They seriously thought something was wrong with me. I soon forgot about it though.

Absolutely not.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?

Penne Arrabiata.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Books and tomes that contain secrets and knowledge of this world and others.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
There's nothing quite like drinking a glass of wine and reading a good book by the roaring fire of your enemy's ruined home.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Booze makes my headaches go away.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Everyday is an adventure, nothing's ever the same.

78. What makes you laugh?
Whenever something bad happens to someone who isn't me.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Being called a human, or worse, someone implying I'm in love with a human.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I let Red out to play.

81. How do you deal with stress?
I let Red out to play.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? That guy over there was giving me a funny look look so I set fire to his pants.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Humans, though I wouldn't keep one as a pet. Same with weasels.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up every morning, eat some breakfast, drink some booze, then go out and ruin someone's day.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
My vast intellect and magical power.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Didn't you ask this already?

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I couldn't hear you over how incredible I am. Next question.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
This doesn't apply to me.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Neither does this.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I'm good at killing things, I'm good at magic, and I'm good at pissing off others. What I'm bad at? Hmm....Maybe, what's that thing called? Empathy? That's something I don't get.

91. Do you like yourself?
This should be obvious already.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
To seek knowledge and power and uncover this world's secrets.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
My one dream is to become an almighty demigod.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully as an almighty demigod.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
I would prefer to fake my death by going out in a literal blaze of glory, taking an all-powerful being down with me. As my companions weep over my sacrifice, I watch from the shadows then depart to start a new adventure elsewhere.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
First I would tell my companions that I don't completely hate them all the time, then I would light everything on fire and finally, get to work on killing as many humans as I can.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
When I die, I want them to remember that if anyone could find a way to torment them from beyond the grave, it would be me.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Only three? That's too hard.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
I'd rather not waste time asking them.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
"When you're fighting a monster, stop missing all the goddamn time. You make yourself look bad."
So I'm not always at the top of my game, big deal. The horse kills enough things without my help.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Oblivion Sun Sep 30, 2012 5:00 pm

1. What is your full name?
Gwynneth Danielle Vanderbilt

2. Where and when were you born?
I'm 28 and I was born in Westpool.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father is Donovan and my mother is Quinne; he's a shipwright and she's a forester, logger, and herbalist. Both have spent much of their lives working out of the Barrowood, at least prior to me coming along.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Nope!

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
We moved to Westcrown when I was in my early teens, around the time Mayor Khrocini (stupid nobles and their weird names) started chaining people to sticks and got a promotion from the crown. I hear Westpool's more like a slave colony than a port town these days...

Westcrown's not much better, mind. Place is run by criminals and thieves, not counting the ones on the streets. Keeps me working, at least, but there's some days I'd rather not have a job than have to deal with... this.

6. What is your occupation?
Detective, Vigilante, Militia Consultant.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Hoo boy.

First off, I'm tall. I mean, stupid tall. I'm a bit over six feet. I'm not heavyset, but I've got a fair bit of muscle on me, so I'm not willowy and I'm definitely not a lightweight. My hair's long, thick, and stark-white, like I'm in my eighties, and my eyes are dark navy blue. I keep the hair braided up so it's not in the way, and I have to wear glasses because I can't see well. Last doctor I asked said it had something to do with exposing myself to too much poorly-controlled magic. *shrug*

I dress pretty simple. Tunic, vest, dress, leggings, gloves, boots. Nothing fancy, dull colors, no expensive stuff. I've also got a coat I tend to wear... well, pretty much all the time except during high summer. Westcrown's right on the east coast and the sea breeze is darned cold.

8. To which social class do you belong?
I'm not very high on the ladder around here. I'm far from poor, though I end up scraping the bottom of the barrel every few months if I don't get steady work or a client is slow to pay up. Part of it's tied to being an accredited arcanist, but I imagine I could get by without it if I had to.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I am allergic to silence. It makes me break out in poorly-timed jokes.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Write with the right, fight with the left. It's weird, I know.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Not deep? Really, what kind of question is that? I don't have an accent or anything so....

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
<placeholder>

13. What do you have in your pockets?
<placeholder>

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
<placeholder>

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Boring when it wasn't wretched. When one or both of my parents were around it was generally slow, slogging through work and trying not to be underfoot, or helping when I got older. When both had to be gone though, I generally got handed a basket of food, shoved in the basement, and told to "make it last". And I did. Trying to come out would have been a one-way coach to the slave markets.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My mother sneaking her wedding ring out of a box while my father slept. I later learned she sold it so we could have food that month.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Not much except my time at the Academy in Port Haven. There I had the standard mage's education. Cost me about a year's wages, scraped up over five since I was a kid and my parents couldn't exactly afford to send me with their money.

18. Did you enjoy school?
It was okay. Most of the professors weren't fond of me. Something about an incapability to follow basic instructions or some such nonsense.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
At the Academy or on the streets. Magic's about the only thing I had any sort of formal training with. Everything else has been self-taught. Oh and a few things from Tlav.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Not really.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My parents? Sure I guess. We were too tired, scared, or hungry to fight.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Anything but what I was.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Eating, I guess.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
About the same sort that I do now. Stubbornness, contrariness, and a rebellious streak a league wide.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Didn't really have "friends". That would have involved leaving the house to do something other than work.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
A guy named Malcolm at the Academy. It didn't last.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
None of your thrice-damned business!

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Around age 15 I started getting a lot of random static shocks whenever I'd work with metal equipment. Saws, hammers, nails, that sort of thing. Someone determined I might have a knack for Sorcery, so they took me in for a few tests, no charge. Turns out I had a lot of potential, but I'd need to head off to the Academy to get any real use out of it. Parents of course couldn't afford it, so I busted every bone in my body for five years to scrape up the money then took off for Port Haven at 21.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Graduating from the Academy and getting officially certified as a licensed mage.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Nobody really. Myself? Or maybe Tlav. Probably Tlav.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Graduating. Oh and not dying.

32. What is your greatest regret?
A few cases I was seconds too slow to save someone.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Blew up a building to stop the slavers inside from escaping. Killed the slaves they'd taken with 'em. Still have nightmares about that.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Not yet.... At least, that I know of.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Probably the first time I got left in the basement as a kid. Thought my parents would never come back. I don't think it was as long as some of the other times but....

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
When my magical potential was first starting to manifest, I shocked myself by leaning up on a metal beam. I had a black welt on my shoulder for a week, and people thought I'd struck myself with a hot poker or something.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

38. What is your best memory?
Graduating.

39. What is your worst memory?
See the evil thing.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I am optimistic that I've seen the worst humanity has to offer. I am also optimistic that I'll soon be proven wrong.

41. What is your greatest fear?
<placeholder>

42. What are your religious views?
The gods are good at their jobs but they attract some nutcases.

43. What are your political views?
Can't get much worse than what we have.

44. What are your views on sex?
That's a bit private don't you think?

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
A little too able.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Slavery.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Love? Sure. Soul mates, not so much.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Doing what you want, when you want, where you want, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else doing it.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
A little too honest. Unless I don't wanna be.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Sure. I don't like idiots. And I tell them so. What an "idiot" is is pretty much determined by who is doing something I don't like today.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Hurt kids, probably. Haven't really thought about it beyond that.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I'm not really that close with anyone right now....

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I'm kind of a loner and I tend to tell people exactly what I think. For some reason that makes them not too fond of me. Iunno.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Not applicable.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Probably my dad. The world's put him through all kinds of hell but he keeps on pushing.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I guess Tlav, I spend the most time with him.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nope!

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Used to think so, but no.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Haven't really thought about it.

60. How close are you to your family?
Pretty close. Still talk to them regularly.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Nope. And not any time soon.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Probably my father. Or Tlav.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Same.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Same.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Probably Mayor Khrocini. Oh, pardon me. Vismargrave Khrocini of Adivian Falling. What the hell is Adivian Falling? Barring that, House Thrune.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Argue. You will agree with me dammit!

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Uh... if by "leadership" you mean "shouting people down", sure!

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I can be kind of impressive in front of a crowd... but I can stone them off pretty badly too....

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Not really!

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like tinkering with petitioning tools. Not very good at it though.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
Tlav. Though I'd not really call him a "possession"... his coin then?

72. What is your favorite color?
Blue.

73. What is your favorite food?
Steak!

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Uh, not much of a reader honestly. Just too poor most of my life to get many books.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Music, definitely music.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
A little, yes, and no. Mostly to relax. Never while on the job. And why would I quit? The docs say it's good for you in moderate doses.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
If I'm on the job, out working. If not, relaxing in what passes for my home.

78. What makes you laugh?
Schadenfreude.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Pointless murder, slavery, and conscription.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Tinker or work on a case.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Blowing stuff up.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Spontaneity IS the plan!

83. What are your pet peeves?
<placeholder>

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, usually after too little sleep and too long working the prior night.
Eat, clean up, dress. Find that one article of clothing that always seems to get misplaced. Make sure leggings and dress go all the way to ankles, make sure gloves go all the way to elbows. You'd be surprised how many times clothes change size overnight when you're a sorcerer. Make sure I have Tlav's coin.
Head out. If I have a case, pick up where I left off the night before. If I don't, check and see if I have any requests. If not, go scouting for work.
Spend the day working.
Head home, clean up, work late into the night if I have something. Collapse from exhaustion.
Repeat.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I'm not afraid to say exactly what I'm thinking, regardless of the repercussions.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Not looking before I leap.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd probably not be so reckless with my magic as a student. Then I wouldn't have to wear spectacles.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted, very.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Uh... mind your step in my place.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good:
Magic
Reading people
Surviving

Bad:
Trust
Getting on people's good side
Tact

91. Do you like yourself?
Absolutely!

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
It's generally the right thing to do, and more often than not I end up helping someone who needs it.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
<placeholder>

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Right where I am. Unless something big happens.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
In a thunderstorm of glory.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Finish my cases
Get money to my parents
Explode Citadel Rivad

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I helped people.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Animated, Extravagant, Undeterred

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Flashy, Stubborn, Reckless

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Slow the heck down before you kill yourself!

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Ladybug Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:53 pm

1. What is your full name?
Liadan Alenn Moriarty

2. Where and when were you born?
Little place in Galadae about, oh, two and change decades past.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Mom's Helena. Cleric of Hades and very good at knowing stuff she shouldn't. Not sure if that's a cleric thing or a mother thing. Dad's Ryan. He used to work on a farm. He's gone now.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Ian's gone. He was a typical older brother, I guess. Liked to tease, never meant any of it. My little brother Kieran's still around. He's always been quiet. Guess it works out - Caila and Maggie sure aren't, and he'd never get a word in around those two!

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I don't really live anywhere, so to speak. I just wander as I'm needed.

6. What is your occupation?
I help people. If I'm too late to help them in life, I can at least make sure I help their souls.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Um...I'm tall. Tall-ish. Not too thin, that'd be from helping Dad on the farm as a girl. Got some freckles. Hair's brown, kind of a mess. I thought I brushed it...Um...eyes are blue. Or green. Both? Blue-green. That works.

I dress pretty light. I keep on the move, so keeping things simple is best. Just a basic tunic-trouser-boots-cloak kit and my armor.

Oh! Right! I'm human.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Depends how people feel about my lord Hades where I go. Did you know some people just cannot handle the idea of death? It's perfectly natural in its time!

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I don't think so.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Left.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Fine if I ain't singing. No one needs to hear that. Um...I guess middle-pitched?

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
[placeholder]

13. What do you have in your pockets?
My holy symbol, for one thing. Never go anywhere without it.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Well, I don't know if it's strange, but I do rather enjoy the sight of animals.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Mostly? All right.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Dad singing to me and my brothers. I miss him.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I'm decently educated.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Too much sitting still.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Some from Mom, most from Grigori, my patron.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Grigori was my assigned patron. Kindly older man, always went out of his way to lend a hand where he could. He really knew how to make people happy.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Well enough. We had a few fights as siblings do, but we never hated each other.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Veterinarian. Things changed.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Tending the farm animals.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I guess I was pretty friendly.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn't hated. I spent a lot of time helping Dad, but I'd occasionally get to run about with Lizzie and Una, mostly. Sometimes Tim, though he was Ian's age and got apprenticed early so had a lot less free time. They were fun.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
With Tim actually. I was nine, and Kieran was telling us all how gross he thought girls were, so Tim thought he'd prove him wrong. *shrug* I just wanted to play tag.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Not sure it's any of your business, but I've not exactly had the time or inclination to pursue any romance.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Let's just say there's a reason I rather appreciate the opportunity to protect others where I can and make certain those who have earned their final rest stay there.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
The day we lost Dad and Ian. I don't much care to speak of it.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Mom. Maybe Grigori.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Receiving Hades' blessing and completing my training.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Dad and Ian.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I probably shouldn't have punched Tim when he kissed me.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
I used to keep track of the people I brought in, but I lost it.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Again, Dad and Ian.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
There's really no graceful way to explain why you're climbing a tree in full armor with a cat on your head. Worth it. The cat was returned to its owner, and I got to pet it.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I'd have gotten home sooner that day. I like to think I could have done something...

38. What is your best memory?
The birth of my niece Maggie.

39. What is your worst memory?
Dad and Ian.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
The glass is half-full until I am thirsty.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Undeath. Death comes to us all...and that is how things are meant to stay.

42. What are your religious views?
I am a servant of Hades.

43. What are your political views?
I don't tend to stay in any one place long enough to develop them.

44. What are your views on sex?
It happens. That creates life. And that ends in death. All things come to my lord in time.

Oh, for me? Why does that matter?

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
While I prefer not to end a life, I accept the fact that I am unable to solve every solution peacefully. To protect the innocent, I am prepared to remove those who would harm them from this world.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Harm a child.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
It's a nice idea.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Finding a purpose.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
What's tact?

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
As long as you're supposed to be alive and not actively making the lives of others worse, we're cool.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Work with necromancers. Why do I refuse? Have you SEEN what they do?

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My family, for certain. In addition, I am pledged to protect the innocent, and I intend to do so to the best of my ability.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I'm decently friendly.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Mom. I would not be the person I am today without her.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Of the living, Mom. Of the dead, Grigori. I owe so much to them both.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I travel too much to really maintain lasting friendships. I suppose Kieran and Caila qualify. They're good people. No spirit for adventuring, but not all of us have that.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nope.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Nope.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I don't.

60. How close are you to your family?
Very.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Nope. Starting one requires finding the right person. Finding the right person requires a risk of giving up my travels. That sacrifices too much for me.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Were I still in Galadae, Mom. As is, my only recourse is prayer.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Yes. I serve my god in the knowledge he looks after me.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My family would, though it would take time for the news to reach them.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
I do not know who they might be, but there is one who has much to answer for.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
It depends on how wrong they are.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Running in with an axe counts?

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I can do it, I guess.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
To a degree. I want to be trusted enough to be heeded in a crisis, but for the most part, it doesn't much matter.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like music. I'm wretched at it. But I'm decent at carving.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My holy symbol. Or my shovel. It's a long story.

72. What is your favorite color?
Green.

73. What is your favorite food?
I'm fond of sweets.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Plays.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Music and the theater are great fun.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Why would I?

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
I don't differentiate the days, but I typically wander about and see if I'm needed.

78. What makes you laugh?
Jokes.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Evil for the joy of it. Defiling the dead.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Birdwatch. Owls are quite fun in flight, if you can catch a glimpse.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Carving.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Plans are boring.

83. What are your pet peeves?
I don't have any pets. Yet.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Routine?

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I think I'm pretty good at helping people.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Lack of focus. It's why they wouldn't let me train as a cleric like Mom.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I guess I'd be a little shorter? Unless it's more the axe than the height that startles people.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I can find things when I need them. You might have trouble.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Running, hitting, helping.

Waiting, singing, sailing. The trip from Wachara was awful.

91. Do you like yourself?
Sure.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
It's no lie that I simply want to help people as I wander. It's of no consequence that I may wish to find someone as I travel.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I want closure.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Somewhere. I don't plan that far ahead.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Protecting someone. I'd want to know that, even if I couldn't save them, I did everything I could to buy them that little bit of time.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Write a letter home. Pray. Find someone to help. I hate sitting still and might as well make good use of my time.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I don't need to be remembered.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Decisive. Lighthearted. Giving.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Spacey. Ditzy. Reckless.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Take some Ritalin.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Swifto Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:07 am

<!---For full effect, please listen to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] whilst reading.---/>

1. What is your full name?
Jack Harding.

2. Where and when were you born?
I reckon about fifty years ago, in Galadae. Dear lord, it was that long ago....

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My Dad died a soldier, fighting in a war. I figured if I joined up too, I could help prevent other kids from the feeling of losing their father. Wasn't til I was older that I realized that fightin' in a war means needing to kill a lot of fathers...
My mother was kind and supportive, but had a mean streak. Anytime I came home from school with a bad grade... Well, it's made me stronger now, if not a whole lot smarter. She died of disease when I was young. Had to live with my aunt's after that. She blamed me for her death...

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I'm an only child. Closest thing I had to a sibling was back when I was first in boot camp. A scrawny fella named Chris. He was bullied a lot. I stuck up for him. We became friends, helpin' each other where we needed it most. He was like a little brother to me. Coupla years into the war, and he gets an arrow stuck in him bad. Clerics couldn't save him.
I still miss him...

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Was at Olympia for the last while. Heard there was some starvin' folks there, and I couldn't turn a blind eye to that. Now I'm on the road to Thistlevale, where somethin's been blightin' the crops. Some kids were passin' around the request. I always been a sucker for kids in need...

6. What is your occupation?
I don't have a job. I just wander from place to place, helpin' those in need. Sometimes I get paid for it, most times not. Served in the army for a long while, though.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
People call me big'n tall, broad shouldered and barrel chested and other flatterin' terms, but I don't believe a mite of it. There's too much unshaven hair and patchwork excuses for clothes on top of the body. The only thing I have that seems even remotely clean is my shield, which I do my best to keep clean.

8. To which social class do you belong?
I ain't the one to answer that question. Certainly ain't well to do, that's for sure.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Dogs always make me sneeze, much as I love'em. Can't even have a friend in this world, can I...

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
My shield is always strapped to my left arm. Leaves my right free for the careful work.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Years of cheap liquor ain't done it no favours.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"You need this more'n I do."

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Spare bootlaces, bit o' alchemists kindness, couple tindertwigs, an empty whiskey bottle, and Chris' ol' Aegis. I ain't never gonna let go of that...

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I can't see a person starve or suffer and leave them be.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Unhappy.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My Dad tellin' me a bedtime story. I can't even recall the story... Something about heroes, I'm sure.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I dropped out to get a job cuz my mother couldn't work anymore from her sickness.

18. Did you enjoy school?
No sir. I would write down all the notes, I would listen to everything the teacher said, I would do all the homework I could... None if it ever clicked, though. I did all the work as best I could, still had to repeat a couple grades. I stopped tryin' eventually...

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I got the basics in boot camp. I refined'em while fendin' for myself in a cruel world.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I always did look up to my Dad. The bits I remember of him are fond memories.
Stories of the Heroes of Haven inspired me, too. Theirs was the only books I really managed to read all the way through of.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My Dad was kind 'til he went off to war, and my Mother was kind most of the time. None of her family liked me much, but my Mother always stook up for me. Most of the time...

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A hero. Someone kind'n noble that always helped the downtrodden. Much as I try to be like that, I sure don't feel like one...

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I always enjoyed a bit o' Piele as a kid. Good game for a guy as big as I am.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Kindness, generosity, and loads of self-pity.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn't from the best of family, so some kids would pick on me for it. Some kids were nicer, but they didn't stick with me too long. Can't blame'em.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
There was one girl, a couple years before boot camp, who I was sweet on. She smiled at me sometimes, and one day I gave her flowers. She appreciated it, and invited me to a drink one time.
Turns out her fiance didn't appreciate my gestures.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
When you save a village from an invading army, sometimes the women can be mighty grateful. No one I knew the name of, though.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I've fought in a few wars. It's never pretty. I've given up on the grand ideal of a Righteous War. Or a justified war. I just do what I can to help the little people.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Joining the army. It hasn't led to happy things, but it gave direction to my life, at least.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Either my Dad or Chris.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Heh... One time, my squad was pinned down behind a pile of rocks by archers. Me'n Chris made a dummy out of clothes'n sticks, and used it to draw fire from'em long enough for some of my boys to sneak behind'em.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Jack's breathing pauses a moment, and he slowly lowers his head. He rests his elbows on his knees and props his head on his fists, almost as though praying.
"That ain't a wound I wanted to open again... But it's my fault Chris died. I was a coward. I'd run when a mage started a fire 'tween us. I thought Chris was right behind me... He'd charged right for the mage, who had some archer cover. If I'd charged with him, he mighta made it....."

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I ain't proud of strikin' a woman, but that one that led me on to get me in trouble with her fiance sure deserved it. Shame he was such a weakling. If he'd put up a better fight, he mighta kept some dignity. As it was, I had tripped him to the floor, kicked the dagger out of his hand, and put a boot to his groin. He surrendered, and the girl tried to slap me. I lost my self-control and slapped her back... Rather harder than she had me.
I hope those two are leading better lives now.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
I try my best to abide by the law of the land, but sometimes, misunderstandin's happen.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Plenty o' times. Anyone that says they're brave in a war is a liar.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Well, one time, when out on patrol with my boys, one of'em did a prank and set off a thunderstone behind me. I soiled myself from the noise. My bosy laughed, but Chris just handed me a cloth and pointed me to the river. I can laugh at it now, but at the time, I didn't feel so hot.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Ugh, just one thing... Idunno, man... Either wishin' my Dad didn't head off to war, or makin' that risky charge with Chris. Dammit, why didn't he ever carry a shield....

38. What is your best memory?
One time I was awarded a medal for bravery. I later left that army and country for bein' run by bad people, so I stomped the medal into the ground with my boot, but at the time, I felt mighty fine havin' an excuse to clean myself up and be applauded by my fellows.

39. What is your worst memory?
Jack once again lowered his head to his fist. This time, his head kept sinking, and tears begin to form.
"I... I ain't a proud man... But sometimes, I think of all the men I killed in service o' some war... And it all just kinda catches up to me... All them fathers, sons, and husbands... I've probably made a lot o' women cry in my lifetime..."
Jack's tears then break up into barely-restrained sobs.
"I... I ain't... a proud man..."

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I've always had a hard time seein' the sunny side o' things.

41. What is your greatest fear?
That I'm gonna lose another friend like Chris.

42. What are your religious views?
The gods are a mean folk if they let things like I seen slide. I ain't gonna do them no favours if they don't care about us little folk.

43. What are your political views?
Rotten, the lot of'em. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Shame me three times, I stop listenin' to politicians.

44. What are your views on sex?
It happens, it has its place. I try not to let it get to me, but sometimes a bedroll gets mighty lonely...

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
If the world ain't gonna miss ya when you're gone, then I ain't gonna grieve for ya.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Take food away from a starving child. I only seen a man do it in front of me once. He ain't a man anymore. He's still kickin' and livin', but I made sure he ain't gonna forget me or the crimes he committed. Think he runs a bakery now. Helps feed hungry folks. Good place to work off his sins.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Some people find it, some people don't. Ain't no one would want a scruff o' hair and regret like me anyways, so I ain't holdin' my breath.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Doin' the best you can with what ya got. S'all I can ask o' anyone.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I got nothin' to hide. Life's too short for keepin' a lid on a good story.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I'm no friend to evil, nor to negligence.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I'd cut my arm off and cook it if it meant a child don't go hungry. Kid has to eat if they wanna grow up strong.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
There's plenty I'm willin' to die for at this stage. S'long as I do some good with it, my life'll have been worthwhile.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Depends on how they are. If they're honest folks, they're fine by me. If they don't respect the common life, then they ain't fine by me.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Most important person alive, or most important person in my life? If'n the latter, I already told ya. If'n the former, well... The folks I'm travelin' with now seem alright, but I ain't known'em that long.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Feel like I already answered this question.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Liadan does alright by me. Don't know her all that well, though.
A perfect friend to me would be a good, nice dog. Most loyal thing around. Shame I can't be around'em, though.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nah... Ain't no one wanted to bother with me.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Plenty o' women have I looked at. Ain't none worthwhile looked at me back.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
She'd have to be a mighty forgivin' sort.

60. How close are you to your family?
Ain't many of'em left. I think i have an uncle somewheres... Probably back in Galadae.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
If'n the world was kind, I woulda loved to have a normal job and have a loving wife and child.
But the world ain't so kind.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
I ain't got no one like that to turn to... Maybe this group with me now will last longer'n my previous ones.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
My shield.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Probably no one...

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Most anyone that's willin' to make others suffer.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I ain't no great shakes in the courtroom. I'll leave the talkin' to other people that're more qualified.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Time was my boys would look to me to help keep'em alive.
That didn't work out so well...

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Ain't no better feelin' than havin' a cartload of bread and passin' loaves out to a load of hungry folks.
Otherwise, they don't bother me none. They tend to ignore me anyways.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
If one person can look back on me and smile, then I did my job right.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Hearin' and tellin' stories of great heroes used to be my favourite thing. Now they depress me cuz they manage to do everything right.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
Chris' dogtag and my shield. One helps me keep my direction in life, the other keeps me alive.

72. What is your favorite color?
I always been partial to a lady in red.

73. What is your favorite food?
Bread. Ain't nothin' simpler or more satisfyin'.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Childrens books tellin' stories of heroes and their exploits inspired me to do what I do. Nowadays, those are about the most advanced books I can read...

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Sittin' and drinkin' with friends after a successful mission. I used to live for that feelin'. I ain't felt it in a long while...

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Cheap liquor helps me forget all the things I shouldn'ta done.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Alive, hopefully.
I remember one night, though... It was a bustlin' Saturday evenin' in Olympia, and these thugs were gangin' up on this poor ol' woman. I chased'em off, and this ol' lady invites me to her pad for tea in thanks. Her pad wasn't very well off, but it was the cutest little pad I ever seen. She made some fantastic tea, and that moment kinda stuck in my mind. She wasn't much better off than me, but she was still makin' the most of it. I respected her greatly. She offered her couch for me to sleep on. I'd forgotten how soft a good chair can be.

78. What makes you laugh?
My boys in my army days were a fun bunch. Always had a blast on our rest days.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I bet there ain't nothin' I haven't seen yet. 'Course, I'll be surprised yet, I'm sure, but I seen some shit in my time.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Read an ol' book. Tryin' to understand the words gets my mind real tired real quick when I oughta be sleepin'.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Mrs. Bottle and Mr. Whiskey.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Bad plans got my boys killed. Fendin' by the skin o' our teeth got more of'em killed. I don't even know what to think anymore...

83. What are your pet peeves?
Those people that say they'll do something, then never do it. That's always bugged me.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, typically from sleeping in a gutter. Nibble on some bread for breakfast, and go see if I can find a bakery to buy bread from. I get as much as I can afford or carry, and see if I can find some hungry people to help out. Usually people just steal'em from me first, though. Or take my money when I'm asleep. Or try to fight me for it. Or think I'm tryin' to poison'em. Breaks my old heart when a hungry mother hides her child from me because she thinks I'm tryin' to poison'em...
Feels pretty dandy when that routine is disrupted.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I ain't got nothin' special about me...

86. What is your greatest weakness?
A pretty woman in need can make me do just about anything she asks me to...

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Just one thing?
Dear lord, where do I start...

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I try to keep to myself. Don't wanna bother no one...

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I haven't lived with a roof over my head since I was a child. I don't even know how messy I'd keep a place.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
3. I suppose I know my way around a fight.
2. I know a fair bit about how to get around in a city.
1. And I know how to get a crowd of hungry people to line up and take their turn.

1. Well, I sure ain't the sharpest knife out there...
2. Lots of people seem to die around me...
3. Lord, this is depressing... Well, doesn't seem like it takes much to make me feel bad...

91. Do you like yourself?
Not especially, it seems.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I'd seen a lot of people suffer in my wartime. I'd committed a lot of sins then, too. Everythin' I'm doin' is just me tryin' to make up for all that...

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I... I dunno... Hunger ain't gonna go away just cuz of my efforts.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Doin' the exact same thing, but slower.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Protectin' someone that deserves to be protected. I'd thought long and hard on this.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
3. Spend every bit of money I have on food.
2. Give it out to as many people as I can.
1. Lay down on my shield and hope that the great beyond is kinder on me.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
That I did the right thing.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Depressing, unkempt, kind.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Depressing, unkempt, kind.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
"Jack... Dude... lemme level with you. All the money you've been gradually spending on bread could have gone towards financing local homeless shelters, volunteer soup kitchens, and lobbies for better welfare infrastructure. I can appreciate your motives, though. Just cheer up a bit, a'ight?"

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Scathe

Post by Journeyman Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:10 am

1. What is your full name?
I don't know my truename and hopefully no one else does either. I've been called many names, but none I'd encourage anyone to repeat.

2. Where and when were you born?
Probably one of those little farming towns where they celebrate spring by having all the single folk wear masks, get drunk, and go out into the freshly plowed fields to "honor the fertility gods" or something like that. You'd think they'd be less surprised when the odd bloodline shows up after that, but it didn't turn out that way. The Old Lady never mentioned which village it was or how long ago.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Good question, Hell if I know.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
There was only the one shallow grave, so I probably don't have a twin. No clue otherwise.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Wherever I happen to be when the sun goes down along with whoever else happens to be there. I find it best to keep moving.

6. What is your occupation?
I get most of my money from the pockets of people I kill in self defense. Poverty hasn't been a serious threat yet.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm a bit short of six foot if I don't hunch, which is to say not often. Walking, digging, and occasionally running or fighting for my life give me good muscle tone without the bulkiness I see in farmhands and ironsmiths. The ashy skin, swept back horns, dull claws, crimson eyes, and pointed tail, those all come courtesy of an ancestor I know nothing about. The scars have more to do with torches, pitchforks, and one quite attractive but rather confused young lady who tried to put a stake through my heart. I tend to wear oil-treated leathers for good reason. The blood and holy water beads off nicely, fire doesn't mark them up too badly, and they're easy to replace if I get stabbed, sliced, or flayed once too often in them. It's not like layering the hides will make me overheat.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Whichever one entitles you to no legal protection whatsoever, or so I assume. It's not like I've ever stuck around to press charges against my would-be-murderers.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Ask me if I smoke, it's funnier if I answer you then.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Sinister.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Like I gargle gravel in my throat every morning and forgot to spit, which is often true.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Hell No!, Damn you!, Go jump in a flaming lake!", that kind of thing. I'm not terribly creative with words but I do enjoy irony.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Herbs usually. A guy gets tired of smelling like scorched leather all the time.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Barring my teeth does not mean that I like you, a twitching tail really doesn't mean that I like you, and a great many complete strangers seem very offended by my breathing, the fact of. Does that count?

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
An endless succession of being yelled at and trying to dodge attempts to hit me. It hasn't changed much since.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Awakening in complete darkness and having to dig my way up to the surface.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Depends what you mean by schooling. I can read and write a few languages but everything else is just experience. I catch people lying all the time. Why would I believe something just because someone says it is so?

18. Did you enjoy school?
The parts where I hit other things were better than the parts where I got hit.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
On the road, from the Old Lady.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Rasalheir, also known as The Stone Head , The Old Woman under the Mountain, or less pleasant sobriquets. She's not much for tact either.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Anonymity has saved them from my well deserved vengeance... for now.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Breathing. Being unbruised, unburnt, and not bleeding would also be a plus.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Meditating, digging, and fighting.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
To quote the Old Lady, "Stubborn as stone, violent as the storms, and hungry as a starving wolf". She never did make it clear if that was meant to be praise or condemnation.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Crowds would gather wherever I went, but they usually meant me harm. Those who didn't hate me for my birth hated me for being her student. There were never any other students, though not for lack of applicants.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
A shy girl who thought for some reason that it would turn me into a prince or somesuch.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
What I said about that kiss? Some girls don't give up easily.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
One of the few perks of being an outsider is complete control over whether I have children. That means either I'm a throwback human parents weren't expecting or my father meant to leave me with a single mother who wasn't up to raising a hellspawn. I'm not sure which possibility burns me up more. My magic I mastered under the tutelage of my mentor.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Being pulled from a shallow grave in the woods by an old killoren woman who liked a challenge.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Let's just say that the Old Lady's fists aren't the only ways she made an impression on me.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Not going on a murderous rampage when surrounded by hateful bigots. Seems like I get to top myself on this one regularly.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Not regretting certain things I've done.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
The things I've done to escape a mob were sometimes messy. I knew innocents might get caught in the middle and I never went back to find out or make amends.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
If those ignorant bigots can write, maybe in a few villages. "Breathing while hellspawn" usually tops the list of offenses.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
The one time I tried to make the Old Lady angry enough to tell me where I came from. "A shallow grave...and I can put you back where I found you!" wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't half convinced I'd pushed her far enough to prove the point.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
She sent me into town for supplies. Some random guy on the street pulled a holy symbol on me suddenly. I flinched back and tripped, hit my head on a rock. They took it as proof I was owned by "dark powers" and tied me up while I was dazed. They tried to burn me at the stake. Don't get me wrong, hellspawn don't burn easily but that doesn't make it any less painful to char slowly. I had to wait until the ropes burned halfway through before I could break them. I wasn't fast enough. The Old Lady showed up to yell at me for not being back with lunch on time. I got loose eventually, but it was her new favorite reminder about the importance of keeping my guard up.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I'd have killed less people. They all earned it, but I don't like thinking of the children they might have left behind.

38. What is your best memory?
I mentioned persistent women, right?

39. What is your worst memory?
Probably that first one.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I prefer to stay in the moment. The future is what it is.

41. What is your greatest fear?
That thing I'm most proud of? Losing that.

42. What are your religious views?
It's about ideals, not the names or individuals. I can respect a faithm but I don't see the point to worshipping someone just for being the most powerful member of the church.

43. What are your political views?
I'd have to actually know something about politics, but that's one torture I've been spared thus far.

44. What are your views on sex?
I enjoy it if she does too, what else? I'm not handsome, well spoken, or even trying, but a certain kind of kinky woman seems to find the disinterested "bad boy" hellspawn just her kind of vice. I'm used to doing exactly as I'm told, so it tends to work out well enough. It's not like I'm going to have any children on accident. As long as it's between two consenting unmarried adults I don't see a problem.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Able, willing, and often eager, hence why I try so hard not to do it. I respect defense of self or others, but I'll generally give the benefit of the doubt as long as there was a fight or the intent was to eat. I don't care much for mind flayers, but it doesn't strike me as murder if you eat what you kill. When intent is known...well, I don't accept genocide. Plenty of people deserve death, but who your parents are isn't sufficient reason by itself.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
My progenitor? Oh, you weren't asking about sex anymore? Probably genocide then. Killing the odd innocent can be an accident or a mistake once or twice but wholesale murder tends to guarantee it.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
No. It sounds too much like an excuse for not upholding your own responsibility in a relationship.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
No regrets.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
With myself? As much as I'm able. With others? I make no special effort to either conceal or communicate myself. Let them make the effort if they care.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I assume anyone I meet wants to kill me until I have evidence to the contrary, does that count? If I'm honest with myself I'm a little bitter regarding Aasimar. They have no more control over their origin than I and a far easier time being benevolent. I don't blame strangers for assuming my guilt due to my blood, but it's aggravating that tieflings who resist our nature recieve none of the respect Aasimar get for simply following their own.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Allow mind-impairing effects to be used on myself, be it magic or more mundane substances. I know what I'm capable of if my control slips. If I'm going to add sins to my conscience I'd like to at least have the consolation of knowing I chose to do so deliberately.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I wouldn't die for her, but I'd take suicidal chances for my mentor. Not that I can imagine anything she couldn't handle just as well without my interference.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I like to think I'm receptive to others, but I've been told that I can be cold and overly reserved... not always in such polite terms. I am not overburdened with friends. Most strangers are unfriendly at best so my social skills or lack thereof rarely come up.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Me. The Old Lady can take care of herself just fine. I'd be a disgrace to her teaching if I couldn't do the same.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
The Old Lady. She lives by her own rules, abides by her own rules, doesn't take abuse from anyone, and has the power to back all that up.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I had a dog once. It didn't die a natural death. Neither did the man responsible. She was a good dog.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
I'm not seeing anyone right now, no.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
No.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Flexibility, enthusiasm, an open mind... and self respect. Unfortunately the kind of woman I respect and the kind I attract have yet to be represented by the same individual.

60. How close are you to your family?
I have no one who deserves the name.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No, I believe a child deserves better than to be abandoned by a parent. I'm not ready to be a father and I've yet to meet a woman I'd chose to be the mother.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
The Old Lady. She'd get a chuckle out of it if nothing else.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Not unless my life is at stake. Anything less and the Old Lady would just stand by and critique my defense.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My enemies, I hope. Why would I wish that kind of pain on anyone I like?

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Me. Haven't you been paying attention?

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I state my postion calmly as many times as needed. "Argue" implies I think I can change anyone else's mind with mere words.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
I tend to act as I see best without wasting time talking. Some people call that leading by example. I'm not one of them, but I'll take what praise I get.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Not really, they tend to get rowdy around me and I don't care overmuch for their take on "pin the tail on the devil."

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Only if it inspires them to attempt my murder. Otherwise I only care for the opinion of people I respect.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
I thrill to the power of channeling the earth song, I find peace in meditation, and I probably enjoy fighting more than I should. Deception of any kind, be it hypocrisy, lies, or glamers, I despise.

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Going walkabout. As long as I keep moving nature always has something new for me to experience. I enjoy fighting even more, but one way or another those encounters tend to be short. I only have two descriptions for my enemies: those who have been properly dealt with... and those who are still moving.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
Something I'd get rid of if it let me. The less said of it the better.

72. What is your favorite color?
Fire. Everything is beautiful as it burns.

73. What is your favorite food?
I indulge in the occasional treat of rock salt or hickory charcoal. For me a Feast of Ashes isn't a curse. I like my vegetables burnt.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Fiction. I spend more than enough time inside my own head, it's nice to see the world through someone else's eyes for a change.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
A good joke, a bad pun, a clever limerick, a funny story, slapstick, a weakling threatening me...

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Smoke? Only in a church. Drink? Just wate, hold the Holyr. Drugs? Does poisoning my enemies count?

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Making myself scarce. One way or another Sunday morning services aren't something I want to be near. Some book thumpers and their congregations have given me a rude awakening when I overslept.

78. What makes you laugh?
Schadenfreude... well, that and good entertainment.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Very little shocks me. I'm offended by bigotry, willful ignorance, and people lying to me.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Meditate, maybe do a kata if I felt the need to move.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Take it out on the first deserving target I find. Look hard if needed, the world is rarely short of things that need killing

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
One of the more useful pieces of advice I ever received was this, "Be polite, listen well, and have a plan to kill every person you meet." Fortunately the same plan is applicable to most people, so it's not like I need to think hard whenever I meet someone new. It's stood me in good stead.

83. What are your pet peeves?
People who can't get to the point. Words don't accomplish anything by themselves, why take more time than necessary to get things done?

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Each day the prey wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest predator around. Each day the predator wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest prey that survived yesterday. The predator undoubtedly has it better, but either way it's best to be moving when the sun comes up. Like the prey I know I need to be better than the best around to be sure I survive. Like the predator I know I always need to be better than I was yesterday. So I wake up, I find food, and then I look for a challenge, repeat as needed. At the end of the day I review what I've done for any lesson that may be learned and meditate to bring myself in union with the world around me. Then I sleep and if I wake it all begins anew.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I'm stubborn.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Temptation. People say they have a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other, helping them make decisions. I have a devil on either shoulder each trying to top the other.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Well, I wouldn't be who I am, for better or worse, if I wasn't what I am. So I suppose I'd leave that as is. It'd be nice if my claws and horns were good for more than digging though. I get mocked occasionally by the rest of the fiendbloods about that.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I keep my own counsel if that's what you mean.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
My things are kept organized. "Messy" is a somewhat mild term for what happens when I'm forced to fight.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
+1. Self Control
+2. Surviving
+3. Digging
-1. Making a good first impression
-2. Social skills in general
-3. Giving up on anything

91. Do you like yourself?
Not really.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I can't hold myself in check indefinitely. Adventuring types seem to trip over deserving targets of misplaced aggression on a regular basis, so it's a good fit for me.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Earn my own respect.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Doing much the same thing, but better. I'm not sure I even can die of old age. For me it's not about rising quickly, it's about never falling.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Slowly and horribly. I've earned it and I'm either gone for good afterwards or respawning in the Hells to experience even worse suffering for all eternity. What's the hurry?

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
1. Make a list of everyone within my reach who deserves to die.
2. Kill them all.
3. Distribute the spoils to people who deserve to live but don't have the money.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
A murderous rampage. Wait, most like? I thought you said most likely.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Stubborn, stoic, and vindictive

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Damned stubborn bastard (of the many things I'm called, at least this much is accurate)

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…).
Keep a lid on the angst. Quiet suffering adds depth of character, vocal suffering just makes you sound emo.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Oblivion Sun Mar 24, 2013 1:05 am

1. What is your full name?
I am called Alastríona of the Clan Eichmann. Most people call me Trina.

2. Where and when were you born?
Tamhrach, in Seanadh, a northern region of the Ice Claw, along the foothills of the Mountains of Madness.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My mother is called Máirín, my father Kieran. Mother is a warrior and soldier and field medic. Father is a spellknight. Both fight on the front lines at the feet of the Mountains, standing sentinel against the Dark Song.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I have several, but it has been decades since we last saw each other. I doubt they are much as I recall them now.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I now reside in Westcrown, in Olympia, or what once was of Olympia. It is a city ruled by fear and pain and promises of such, where the rulers consort freely with fiend-kind and criminals and nightmares walk the streets by moonlight.

6. What is your occupation?
I am a sculptor by trade, a historian by practice. My current task is the crafting of equipment and decor for theatres.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I stand five and a half feet tall, and am of moderate build. I possess little excess muscle nor bulk. My hair is dark brown and straight, worn long, and hangs down below my shoulders freely. My eyes are pale green. My skin is the darkened shade of one who has spent much time under the sun, be it in the heat of the south or the blinding reflection of the light from the snow of the north. My ears are slightly pointed, like the Elves of this land.

I dress finely, as befits someone of my occupation and position. When not working, or when working in public, I prefer dresses and concealing clothing, revealing as little excess skin as weather permits. I tend to favor reds, greens, or blacks, in dark hues. I wear jewelry as appropriate, as it is an expectation of people of means in this land. When working in my own home I typically wear simple blouses and tough working pants, overlaid with an artist's apron.

My fur matches the color of my hair, with hints of red, though I attempt to keep my legs hidden in public due to the locals' lack of education on the differences between a true fey and a fiend-touched. My hooves are black, and always kept well-maintained and shined.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Among my own, I was born into the warrior caste, but ... well, that did not work out. In Westcrown, I believe there is an "artist's caste" that I have made myself a member of, though I am not certain there is any official dividing line.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I am of FaeReie. Make of that what you will.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I work primarily with my right hand.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I am noted to be soft-spoken, calm, and contemplative, choosing my words slowly and carefully. I do not see this as inaccurate.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
<placeholder>

13. What do you have in your pockets?
My working tools, my jeweler's lens, a mirror, one of my pairs of assisting gloves, a few wands.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
<placeholder>

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Hurried. There is little time for the frivolities of youth among the Glastigs. I recall in my earliest years the games and jests of our youth, but all too soon it was replaced with the beginning of training, to prepare us to join the sentinels.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Father coming home from the battlefield. He was not there to see us born. Any of us.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Much. I was trained for decades by my Clan, then schooled under my first master for ten years, then others for varying time since.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Until I came to Westcrown, yes. The wizards of this land dabble in things that mortals should not, though, and I discarded my studies after one too many demands for infernal contact.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From Maester Trentim, my first master after leaving my homeland.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
My parents, in their own way, and some of the other warriors of our Clan.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
We cooperated well enough, and there was little strife beyond simple sibling scuffles and the disagreements of parents and children. It was not until my training years came and I ... could not perform up to expectations that discord began to grow between me and my sires.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I believe I had, at least mostly, resigned myself to joining my Clan on the battlefield. It was not until that failed to come to pass and I left my homeland as an adult that I began considering other alternatives.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I have always loved art, but as a child I mostly drew and whittled. I did not move on to sculpture until my later years.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was said to be inquisitive, somewhat defiant, and constantly curious. Traits that, at least discounting the defiant part, I have retained.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
My friends were my Clan, though I was never particularly close to anyone.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
I left my Clan before taking any partners or being betrothed, and have had no desire to dally with those outside my kind, so I have not pursued nor been pursued in any romantic gestures.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
See above.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I was trained in my inborn powers as part of being trained to join my Clan at war. I learned magic and my summoning ability, and met my companion Oillipheist, during my time studying under Maester Trentim.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Meeting Oillipheist.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Probably Maester Trentim.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Surviving as long as I have outside my Clan, really. Any number of things could have gone wrong and resulted in my losing an occupation, an apprenticeship, my homes, my belongings, or my life, and other than Oillipheist I have had no one to call upon for aid should things turn poor.

32. What is your greatest regret?
I'd rather not discuss it.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Calling up devils as part of my studies in Westcrown. Not something I will ever do again.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Mothers, no.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
During my youth, a group of us trainees were taken out to watch a battle when the Song poured down from the mountains and our sentinels went out to fight them. I was utterly horrified at the sight. It still sometimes haunts my dreams.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
My failure to pass the tests of my Clan, mainly.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I cannot think of anything.

38. What is your best memory?
Forming my first official pact with Oillipheist.

39. What is your worst memory?
Making a dangerous mistake while calling up a powerful devil, I believe a Levaloch, and seeing the warmonger fiend burst free of its containment. Thankfully my would-be employer was able to banish it again before it could close the distance between us, but he made no secret that he would have - or should have - allowed it to ravage me before dismissing it, for my mistake.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I consider myself neither, really. I am neither hopeful nor despairing, I simply focus on the now.

41. What is your greatest fear?
That my life and soul should be lost, either to the clutches of a fiend or the cacophony of the Song.

42. What are your religious views?
Religion is not a common thing among my kind, and most who choose to revere a mortal spirit are seen as odd at best. I have a respect for the avatar known as Thain, the keeper of contracts, for his kinship to the restrictions and expectations of my kind, but I am no priest.

43. What are your political views?
I have made a stringent point to remain uninvolved in human politics, as much as possible.

44. What are your views on sex?
To each their own.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I can, though I surely prefer not to. In self-defense, protection of myself, my friends, my belongings, or the innocent or defenseless.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Dealing with devils in contracts of soul is a certainly vile enough starting point.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Not particularly. I encourage those who believe they have such to enjoy it while it lasts, but I believe such bonds are made more than destined.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Peace and contentment with your lot, whatever it be.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I am somewhat reserved with my feelings and opinions, I'm told.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
If I did, would I notice?

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I will not deal in devils again. I have endured far too many foul situations and close calls.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
At this time I do not believe I can answer this question.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I attempt to be civil and polite with all I speak to, regardless of my opinions or my familiarity toward them.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
At the moment, Oillipheist. She has been my closest companion for several decades now. I would even dare to say she is as a portion of my own soul.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
<placeholder>

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I really do not have any friends at this time, I am afraid.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
No.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
No.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
At the moment I am simply trying to manage my rent payments, keep up with my work schedule, and take care of my pets and my obligations. I do not find myself with the time to seek out a companion.

60. How close are you to your family?
Not very, now.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
I have no one at this time, alas.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Oillipheist.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Probably no one. Oillipheist, if she did not simply cease to exist or become unbound from this world with my passing.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Whoever this Abrogail Thrune is, probably her. I perceive the impression that she is largely responsible for the infestation of deviltry in the Westcrown region.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I am a bit more reserved and have a tendency to keep my thoughts to myself.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Mothers, no. I tend to be too quiet.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Certainly not.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
I did not in the past, but as the years have come and gone I have found myself more and more concerned with my appearances and the expectations of my role and station.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I carve and sculpt as one of my major sources of income, and because I have a love for the art. Elsewise I have many pets that I spend time with and attend to, for company and companionship.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
I do not put much stock in belongings, I must say.

72. What is your favorite color?
I have a fondness for green.

73. What is your favorite food?
Not particularly, I am not very choosy.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
History! History is fascinating. Fiction is equally entertaining though.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
A warm fire, a warm blanket, a good book, and my pets all around me.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I am fond of wine in moderation.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
If I have a project, working on it. If not, reading.

78. What makes you laugh?
A good story.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
The vast majority of goings-on in the south lands.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Read.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Read or work.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I am a wreck if I must act without preparation.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Disruption of my work, making a mistake, customers who change their minds without informing me or renegotiating.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I wake, tend to my morning rituals, feed my animals, and summon Oillipheist. So long as I am nearby, as I usually am, she can remain in the house and come to my side as necessary.
I spend most of the morning doing local errands. A short trip to the market for necessities, as needed, and any business-related travel within the city.
By noon I return home, tend the animals once again, and begin work. I spend most of the afternoon at my worktable, taking short breaks to stretch, play with my pets, spend time with Oillipheist, read, and relax.
I cease work in the evening, make dinner for everyone in the house, start a fire if it is not already burning, and spend the rest of the evening reading. I dismiss Oillipheist shortly after nightfall, see to all my pets' needs, then retire.

A disruption is usually due to an unscheduled, unexpected, or delayed project, and I tend to delay or sacrifice my rest times to secure the necessary extra work time.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I am studious, dedicated, and organized.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I would go mad if forced to act without some schedule or preparation in advance.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd not mind a little more ... social bravery, for lack of a better term.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I keep to myself mostly.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Very organized. Everything has its place.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good: Goal-oriented, dependable, prompt
Bad: Self-deprecating, obsessive, perfectionist

91. Do you like yourself?
I would not wish to be anyone else, at least not at this time.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I... I am not an adventurer....

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I have not really given it much thought. I have many decades, perhaps centuries ahead of me still....

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully an improvement over my current situation. Perhaps relocated to Haven or somewhere else less ... sulphurous. Do not tell anyone I said that, though. The Wiscrani are a bit ... touchy about people preferring Haven over Westcrown.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Peacefully in my sleep. Hopefully with arrangements already made for my projects to be given to trusted craftsmen and my animals to someone who can properly care for them, rather than being loosed onto the streets or sent to a shelter.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Arrange for my obligations to be passed to worthy craftsmen for completion.
See that my pets get proper homes, or at least are provided for until such becomes available.
Contact my family and bid them farewell.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
My art.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Artistic, contemplative, detail-oriented.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Perfectionist, shy, awkward.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)

Not everyone is meant for center stage. Don't sweat it.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Ladybug Sun Mar 24, 2013 7:51 pm

1. What is your full name?
Elegy Irina Medvyed

2. Where and when were you born?
6743, the family home in Olorunium.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Lord Stelian and Lady Adelina Medvyed.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Two older brothers, Evan and Emerson. Typical older brothers to a little sister, I suppose.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Dun Raige, Iomrall with the rest of my companions.

6. What is your occupation?
I was appointed head of the colony.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm just a little over five feet tall, light of build. My hair is long and black, but I try to keep it styled out of my face whether in a nice updo or a simple braid. My eyes are amber, and I suppose I'm a bit fair of complexion for an Olori, but it comes of studying.

I think I dress fairly well and prefer rich jewel-toned hues. Although when I'm adventuring, any old thing will do, I suppose.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Lesser nobility.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Not really.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Left.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I speak fairly quickly and clearly, and I think I tend to have a more posh tone than my companions.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
<placeholder>

13. What do you have in your pockets?
I always carry some marbles with me. They're wonderful for holding light.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Well, Lilith and Errol seem to find me annoying on principle.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Fine. About as well as one can expect as a spare youngest child.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Sitting with Mother while she sewed.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Only the finest tutors served our house.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Very much.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Ah...those were mostly accidental.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I do have to admit some admiration for Rinne Naltasi. Hard not to, reading about the defeat of Tiamat as a child.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I was the youngest and only girl. I was picked on about as much as you'd expect.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Useful. Possibly a scholar, but anything that would be useful to my family.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Studying, mostly.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I've always been studious and confident.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn't to mix with those deemed beneath me.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
That really shouldn't be relevant.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
That is absolutely none of your concern!

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I never intended to become a mage, but apparently if you're fool enough to waltz aimlessly into FaeReie, you don't get much of a say in that regard.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Undoubtedly my meeting with the Winter Queen. It certainly set my life on its current course...

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
See above.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Founding Iomrall.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Wandering through that blasted fairy ring.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I can't really think of anything that would be exactly "evil," per se.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
No.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Look, you try being lost, alone, and powerless in the heart of Winter.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Returning with barely controlled powers from FaeReie.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I think...I wouldn't have gone into town that day.

38. What is your best memory?
Seeing the first building in Dun Raige completed after signing the charter.

39. What is your worst memory?
...I'd rather not talk about it.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Cautiously optimistic.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Losing control of my mind.

42. What are your religious views?
I tend to value Corian over the other Avatars.

43. What are your political views?
Well, I'm in charge...

44. What are your views on sex?
It is a biological process through which a procreationally compatible couple fertilize and produce an heir and pass on their genetic material for a new generation.. Why?

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I have and am certain I could again. But I'd have to be certain I could find no reasonable alternative.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
I'll tell you when I've seen it, but depriving another of their free will for the sake of entertainment would rate high.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I've seen little evidence to the contrary.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Doing well at what you must do or enjoy doing.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I much prefer to keep to myself, though I've become more open with my friends of recent.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I'm not fond of lizardfolk, though they did bring it on themselves, kidnapping a little girl...

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I won't create undead. It just seems disrespectful and likely to backfire horrifically.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I'd gladly protect my colony.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I tend to keep people at a distance. It's what I'm used to, though I'm trying to be more friendly to those close to me.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
<placeholder>

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
<placeholder>

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I think of Errol, Jaekah, Lilith, and Takeshi as my friends.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
<placeholder>

No.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I don't.

60. How close are you to your family?
We're related.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No, but I suppose I'll have to sooner or later.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
My companions.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
My companions, as they have in the past.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
I'd like to think my friends and family would.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
<placeholder>

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I argue with people to avoid conflict.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Um. Yes.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I can address a crowd more easily than an individual.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Yes.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Studying.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
I don't really have one, but the pendant Mab gave me does prove that I didn't simple imagine the entire incident, so there's that.

72. What is your favorite color?
Red.

73. What is your favorite food?
Honey.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Darn near everything.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

No.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Working in my lab.

78. What makes you laugh?
Jokes.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Callous disregard for life.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Work on a construct or read.

81. How do you deal with stress?
I funnel it into projects.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I prefer to plan, but improvisation has its place.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Messiness, ignorance.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Normally? Stay in Dun Raige, work on the necessary paperwork, and tinker at my workbench. If it's disrupted, it usually means we've got work of a different nature to do.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I'm stubborn enough to stick to solving a problem.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I suppose I'm somewhat impulsive.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd be normal again.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Organized.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Learning, negotiating, adapting

Waiting, relating with peers, noticing my surroundings

91. Do you like yourself?
Yes.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Face Mon Mar 25, 2013 2:52 am

1. What is your full name?
Arlie Sitara. My true name cannot be spoken with one mouth.

2. Where and when were you born?
Eons and eons ago, in the darkest reaches of the cosmos far, far away, at the edge of eternity and oblivion.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My "Mother" as you creatures would call her has several names. The stars are her eyes and she has a million arms that reach through the darkness to hold the sky above our heads. She is always watching over me.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I am not the only one of my kind, but I do not know what the others are like.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live in the shadows on the streets of Westcrown, I do not reside with another.

6. What is your occupation?
I work for a friend of mine who I will leave nameless. I lurk the streets trying to uncover more of Westcrown's secrets. It is enjoyable work.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
My size cannot be measured, for it is never the same. I possess millions of appendages, each with an eye and mouth. My mortal form is as you see it. I am an Ael-Varan of five feet and eleven inches, I weigh 57 lbs. last I checked, my eyes are the color of the grass and forests of this planet, while my wings and hair are the same as the void I formerly inhabited. I have the same taloned hands and feet as other Ael-Vari, and I wear black leggings and an indigo robe that I have decorated with the constellations. I alos wear a bronze circlet that protects my mind from being invaded by creatures who wish to harm me.

8. To which social class do you belong?
I do not belong in any of your classes as far as I can tell.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
My immune system is above that of you creatures, though cat hair has provoked a certain reaction in me from time to time. I believe it is because they are secretly aberrations whose nature directly conflicts with my own.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Umm, I have two hands.

11. What does your voice sound like?
If I were to speak with my many mouths, it would sound like a chorus of ravens speaking in Celestial while the storms rage and children sing. My mortal voice is quite dull compared to that.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
I try to avoid having favored words as you creatures do. Falling into repetition is a sign that someone has broken my mental barrier and is assuming control of my voice.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
That's a very good ques-Oh! A piece of butterscotch!

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
It's rather strange, but I have the tendency to speak in a bizarre language when I become upset. I'm still not sure why.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
It was quite dull growing up on this world. There's not much to say.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Watching the stars align themselves.

17. How much schooling have you had?
What I have learned, I have learned by watching you creatures.

18. Did you enjoy school?
No.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
My abilities come as second nature for those of my kind.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Just my "Mother".

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I suppose my "Mother" and I got along well. We did not have the same relationship as you creatures do with your kin, but we accepted each other's existence.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to rejoin my "Mother" in the stars.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I enjoyed flying a lot. I would scale the highest point I could find and leap off from it, trying to fly as high as my mortal body would allow me to. I had hoped to one day break through the veil between the sky and the void.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was imaginative, creative, and mostly strange.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Other children were uneasy around me.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
In my adolescence, there was a young man who quite smitten with me. One day, he forced a kiss upon me. He lost interest when I did not react to him.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
A virgin is what you creatures refer to as one who has not yet experienced intimacy. In the simplest term, it is one who is pure and untouched. This can be applied to whatever context that speaker desires. I consider myself a vigrin in all respects.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Somehow in the past, my ethereal form was destroyed and reborn in this mortal vessel. It is quite an interesting story actually, perhaps one day I will tell you.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Hmm, I have never thought about this. I suppose it would be the day I first sampled a cake from one Westcrown's bakeries.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My "Mother", of course.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I once stuffed 32 pieces of butterscotch in my mouth at once.

32. What is your greatest regret?
That is....hard to say.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I do not believe in and evil. Such a concept is meaningless in the end.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
I am certain I have commited numerous felonies, I just couldn't care less.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
I cannot say.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
I do not feel that emotion.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I would like another question.

38. What is your best memory?
Sleeping in the warmth of a dying sun.

39. What is your worst memory?
Perhaps, the day I was born in this form.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Things happen. There is no good or bad, events unfold as they will.

41. What is your greatest fear?
I do not wish to say.

42. What are your religious views?
You creatures hold fast to your beliefs; I admire it, honestly. I believe that your faiths are narrow-minded, however, and that you could never rgasp the truth that lies in the void. Even your gods are nothing more than specks of dust in the infinite cosmos.

43. What are your political views?
Your rulers are blowhards who seek control when no such thing exists.

44. What are your views on sex?
Creatures mate to spread their seed. Whether it be out of necessity or mutual attraction, it does not matter. You mate because nature requires it.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I can take a life to preserve my own. It is how your world works, yet you creatures often refuse to grasp that concept and place far too much value in a single life.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
I do not believe in good and evil. I have already said this.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
It is a comforting ideal, I suppose, but not one that I believe exists.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Living.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I will always say what is on my mind, but there are some things I feel do not deserve to be spoken aloud.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I do not trust people with hats. A person with a hat means they have something they wish to hide and are trying to shield their minds. They are fools if they think it will work. Fabric does not shield one's mind, metal does. That's why I have this circlet.
I am also not fond of those who are so arrogant that they act like the world revolves around them. They could not be more wrong.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Hmm, that is an odd question. I'm usually pretty accepting of many things.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I do not know. I have never thought about it.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I try to be as friendly with others as I can. They will not harm me if they view me as a companion. It also throws potential enemies off-guard because they will not suspect me of being capable of invading their minds.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My "Mother" will alwyas be the most important thing in all my lives.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
My "Mother", of course. She is a very remarkable entity with powers beyond your feeble imagination.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I suppose I have a lot of friends. The question is if they consider me one as well.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
I do not.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
I have not felt an attraction to another in such a way.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
A potential mate would have to be an outstanding physical specimen with an excellent mind so that our offspring would be fit and healthy. I suppose if he was also kind that would not hurt.

60. How close are you to your family?
My "Mother" and I are separated by an immeasurable distance, but she is always watching me.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
I could bear a child one day. I do not know if I would like to or not.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
In times of uncertainty, I look to the night sky and ask my "Mother" what I should do. I cannot hear her, of course, but it makes me feel better.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
My "Mother" will protect me. Well, not my mortal form. I am certain no one would jump in front of a knife for me.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Perhaps my Ael-Varan parents, but I have not spoken with them in years.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
I do not despise anyone or anything. Except for cats. Deceitful creatures who bring nothing but pain.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I will avoid a confrontation, and then plot their undoing from the shadows.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
I prefer not to, but if no one else steps up then I have little choice.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I am not comfortable in a crowd.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Not really.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like sleuthing and gazing at the stars.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
I do not carry an attachment for material possessions.

72. What is your favorite color?
The color of the night.

73. What is your favorite food?
I have a preference for sweets. Butterscotch, cinnamon, honey, peppermint, caramel, and chocolate. Especially chocolate.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
I entertain myself with your texts. I'm always interested in the knowledge your kind has accumulated over your short existence.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Well, I will admit I've become quite interested in Westcrown's, what do you call them? Plays? They're quite intriguing.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I try not to poison this mortal body if I can help it.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Why, the same as any of my other nights.

78. What makes you laugh?
When you creatures presume to know everything.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Those who try to dismiss the existence of my "Mother". I will not tolerate such things.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
There are lots of things for me to do at night. Really, I would prefer to sleep during the day instead.

81. How do you deal with stress?
I take to the skies and let the winds soothe my mind

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
A little of both at times.

83. What are your pet peeves?
The arrogance shwon by some I have met.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I try to not fall into a routine. If someone were to learn of it, they would know where and when to find me.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I like to think that I am quite good at what I do.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I cannot divulge such sensitive information.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Hmm, I'd like more eyes. So I can see in multiple directions. And perhaps a second mouth.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I value my time alone, but that time is not as valuable if that is how you always spend it. I enjoy speaking with others and poking their minds when I ahve the chance.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Both! I create a mess that has eveyrthing where I need it for when I need it.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I am good at flying, spying, and lying. Well not so much lying. I just wanted all of that to rhyme.

I am not very good at staying on the ground, minding my own business, and rhyming.

91. Do you like yourself?
Yes, I have no problems with my form at present time.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
Because it sounds fun.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I wish to uncover all of Westcrown's secrets and then some.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
My powers do not allow me to see the future...yet.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Hmm, I would shed my mortal form upon breaking through the veil between the sky and the void to reunite with my "Mother".

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Only three? There's plenty of time in the day to do all the things I'd want to.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I will arrange the stars in the sky to form my likeness, so that those who knew me will never forget me.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Elegant, logical, whimsical

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Strange, bizarre, eldritch.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Hmm....nah.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Oblivion Mon Mar 25, 2013 5:46 pm

1. What is your full name?
Surely you jest. Or perhaps you're simply unfamiliar with the naming traditions of the Children of Arachne. My full name would be a complete recitation of my lineage along matriarchal lines, daughter to mother, back to Arachne herself. I could request the necessary documentation from my family, but it would take some time, and sadly I do not have more than the past eight or nine generations committed to perfect memory.

For common conversational purposes, my given name is Siobhan, my family name Quirke.

2. Where and when were you born?
I am eight hundred and seven years of age, as of this past autumn. I hatched in a nest collective near Craos in Galadae.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father is named Aodhán, and is a scholar and scribe by trade. My mother, Enya, is a priestess of Arachne.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I have one near-kin (from the same egg clutch) sibling, my sister Róisín, only about twelve years my junior. She is a wizard whose skill and potential are only matched by her recklessness and sarcastic wit. We get along reasonably well, though clashes are frequent, they are generally minor and more amusing in hindsight than they are frustrating at the time.

We have several younger far-kin siblings, both brothers and sisters, from two other clutches: one two hundred years our junior, one three.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
My home, such as it is, will always be Craos, the throne city of Galadae and the center of Arachne's church. It is a regal city set on an island amidst a lake, constructed mostly of white stone quarried from the hill lands to the northeast, with the Great Centerweb Temple and the royal castle of House Astraea themselves constructed mostly of marble. It is inhabited mostly by an almost-equal volume of both humans and my kind, with a generous if constantly vacillating secondary population of halflings and a small sprinkling of other species.

6. What is your occupation?
I am a Templar of Arachne, a swordswoman in her service, defender of her priests and crusader against her foes. I also am a dedicated student of history, particularly the eras before the codification of the current political arrangement - the feudal years prior to Galadae, Olorunium, and Iomrall's independent existences, and the centuries prior before mortal men came to Wachara, when these lands were ruled by dragons and giants, and humanoids roamed the lost jungles and ancient ziggurat cities of Paziou.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
In my natural shape, I stand just short of eleven and a half feet tall, and weigh a little over four hundred pounds. My skin is the same light, slightly tanned hue common to Galad humans and halflings, as most Children of Arachne living in this area; we tend to resemble local humanoid life after living in an area for a few generations. My hair is a reddish-brown, straight, and hangs to just below my shoulders. My eyes are a dark violet shade.

My garb depends on whether or not I expect to be threatened wherever I am traveling at the moment. If I expect no trouble, I dress casually in the style of a scholar, wearing a simple white, tan, or grey tunic; brown or black vest; and a skirted belt, a common accessory worn by some of my kind in our natural shape. I wear gloves if expecting to handle anything hot, sharp, venomous, or fragile. If I expect combat, I wear armor - mail or breastplate - over my traveling clothes. Regardless, I always carry my scabbard with my greatsword within, either belted to my hip or strapped over my shoulder and across my chest.

My body and legs are a dull grey color, covered in a layer of soft fur over iron-hard exoskeleton. I'm still working on getting proper armor fitted for the lower half of me - it's available, but far more expensive than the normal armor style designed for humans that I can only wear half of.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Most strictly, as a Templar I am considered part of the clergy. Otherwise, my family is not of excessive wealth, land, or nobility, but we are far from poverty.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I am in excellent health, and have no debilitating vulnerabilities that I am at this time aware of, other than a few seasonal irritants.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I am ambidextrous, though naturally I favor my right. Learning to use both was a major focus of a long segment of my training.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I have a strong voice, pitched somewhere in the lower alto register according to my comfort zone in hymns. I can sing and shout alike with persistence and sustainability, thanks to many decades of practice.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Stop it, Róisín" or some variant thereof is common. Otherwise, [TBC!]

13. What do you have in your pockets?
My journal and several writing implements, my holy symbol, a pouch of marbles, some coins, and a bottle of Bladeguard.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
<placeholder>

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
My kind have two childhoods, the first few decades after our birth, where our sentience is somewhat blurred and we slowly come into more and more cognition before our first metamorphosis, and then the first few decades after that metamorphosis where we adapt to our dual forms and prepare ourselves for the life beyond and eventual apotheosis. I remember very little of the first. The second was mostly pleasant, with little to complain of. My family was for the most part loving and friendly, possessed of the usual sibling banter and discord, and as always deeply devoted to Arachne's worship, eventually leading to my obvious dedication into her service as I grew older.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Preparing for my initial metamorphosis. I recall that there were events in the decades prior, but I've long since forgotten what they were, and none of them remained important or impressionable enough to force recollection. A few centuries of far more vibrant life post-metamorphosis will do that.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Quite a lot. Centuries of study and training, both mentally under the tutelage of my parents, schoolmasters, superior priests, and master Templars.

18. Did you enjoy school?
For the most part. I did not much care for mathematics, that's more Róisín's specialty, but I have since been quite enamored with history, geography, politics, and religion.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From my parents, schoolmasters, or trainers.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
My parents, particularly my father. He provided most of my training and tutelage in my earliest years, and instilled in me much of my love of learning.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
For the most part. Róisín and I bicker now about as much as we did then. It's merely a little more sophisticated now that we've both had a few hundred years of education.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A scholar or a priestess, like either of my parents. My physique has always been more suited for the knighthood though, and I do not regret being escorted into the Templars.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Reading, studying, sometimes drawing, singing, telling stories, and playing or talking with Róisín or later on with our other siblings.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Curiosity mostly, though I've been told I was prone to rash and stupid bravery at times.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
My only real friend was Róisín, less out of lack of friendship and more out of the simple facts of our age. We were considered young, extremely young, by our own kind - and rightfully so - but we appeared as adults (regardless of our form at the time) to humans and their like and were generally treated as such, so it was often difficult to acquire true "friendship" with them until we had grown into ourselves a little.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
A lady never kisses and tells.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
That is quite none of your business.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
There was little to be "learned"... I mastered most of my natural abilities in my youth on instinct. It took a few days to begin learning shape-changing after my first metamorphosis, but that was likewise swiftly understood. After the second, it was simple to adapt what I already knew to account for my new true form.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Either my apotheosis or my declaration as a full Templar.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My parents, easily. My sister secondly.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Becoming a Templar. Discovering some historical relic or ancient city would rank highly though, if I ever managed so! Or winning an important battle!

32. What is your greatest regret?
That I am over eight hundred and have yet to do much traveling, when Aranea half my age have become heroes in historical past, even prior to their own apotheosis. It makes me feel like I've squandered much of my life, simply out of waiting for my final metamorphosis before departing from my homeland.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Nothing that I've ever done could really qualify as Evil, I'd dare to say!

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Absolutely not.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
<placeholder>

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
A few of the pranks my sister or younger siblings have pulled on me probably qualify.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I'd certainly consider joining the Templars sooner, completing my training sooner, and setting out into the world sooner.

38. What is your best memory?
Winter nights safe and warm in my family's home. I have several of those.

39. What is your worst memory?
When a forest fire blazed through the Bhel Damar. We feared it would reach the city before being stopped. Thankfully some of the local priests were able to rally help from local wizards and together diverted it around the city, slowing it some and allowing the groups trying to stop it to catch up.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I generally believe everything will turn out for the best, provided effort is made by all participating.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Cowardice in the face of battle. I hope only that I have the nerve and the preparation to stand my ground against such opposition, when it comes.

42. What are your religious views?
I am a strong devotee of Arachne, as are most of my kind. I have a general respect for most of the Avatars, save those in service to the Malign Seed and some of those touched by the Ever-Shifter.

43. What are your political views?
I am loyal to the crown of Galadae and House Astraea. Beyond my country's borders, I generally do not give my opinion, as I am not a citizen of those lands and it would be inappropriate for me to attempt to impose my will there.

44. What are your views on sex?
Best kept between loyal lovers or spouses, with due appropriate concern for any resulting eggs or young. Personally, I've spent little time on thought of the subject, even despite my age - always been too busied with considering other things.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I am and have and must. I fight in defense of the weak, in shelter of the unprotected, in guard of my charges and my kin, and in crusade against the enemies of my people and my goddess.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
I'm not certain I could put a single choice to such a decision. Slavery, torture, necromancy, murder, the list goes on....

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I think it's nice to dream of some ideals and perhaps true even for some, but I doubt it universal, and for most of us hardly so simple.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Staying true to your principles, leaving a worthy legacy, and having those who remember you fondly when you are gone.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I tend to be somewhat forward and blunt, though I do try to remain civil.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I have a distrust and dislike of any who affirm themselves followers of the dark gods, primarily the Shattered Song, on simple principle. Troublemakers and ne'er-do-wells without justifiable reason for their crimes likewise, though I like to think these able of some correction given the opportunity.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
That's actually a fairly long list. Anyone familiar with my principles, my personal code, or the dogma of Arachne would know the sort of things I would not condone.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My family, anyone relying on my protection, anyone in the path of danger when I am there and able to intervene on their behalf.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I tend to be more open with people I'm very familiar with, such as Róisín, but I am generally polite and civil and honest with anyone I meet.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Probably Róisín at this time. I really sometimes don't think I'd be willing to have traveled alone, despite the frustrations she sometimes causes me.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Either of my parents, for the way they raised me and the things they've taught me all these years.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
At the moment my closest friend is Róisín.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
No.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
No.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I haven't really thought about it! I imagine I'd like someone much like my father though - studious, dependable, hardworking, trustworthy, loving, and attentive.

60. How close are you to your family?
Extremely.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Not yet.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Róisín.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Again, Róisín. This is beginning to sound repetitive.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My family for certain.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The Jealous Harpy, on general principle. Though, at the same time, if she'd not cursed Arachne we never would have existed. So I cannot say for certain.

Actual mortal person? I've not met anyone yet that I could say I truly despised. Criminals I disliked, enemies I opposed in desire or faced in battle, troublemakers who irritated or agitated me, but no one I had reason to actively hate. Yet.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I try not to actually argue and remain open-minded for some negotiation, but I do stand my ground for my positions or principles.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Yes.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Not generally, but I can if I must. I prefer personal, individual interaction though.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Yes, but not enough to alter my behavior to meet all of their demands or expectations, most of the time.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Training, reading, singing, studying, or stargazing.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My holy symbol, given to me by my mother before I left.

72. What is your favorite color?
Silver.

73. What is your favorite food?
I really don't have one, I'm not very picky.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Music, books, combat, or simply spending time with friends and family.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
No.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Either training, reading, or traveling.

78. What makes you laugh?
Róisín, more than anything.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
See above regarding evil things men can do.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Read, train, listen to music or sing if no one is around to wake up.

81. How do you deal with stress?
See above.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I try to plan ahead, but I am capable of improvisation. To be otherwise would be detrimental to my combat and tactical ability.

83. What are your pet peeves?
<placeholder>

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I rise shortly before sunrise, prepare breakfast, and perform my morning stretches and drills. Wake Róisín if she isn't already up.
If traveling, move on toward our next destination, stopping to rest, eat, investigate things we encounter, or deal with hostiles as necessary. Make camp shortly before sunset, hunt if necessary, then take watch for a few hours. Róisín's familiar usually stands guard in the later hours, allowing me to get some rest. If we have someone else traveling with us, we can take the opportunity to divide up the rest shifts a little more, allowing some more sleep for us non-casters.
If at home, head to the temple and spend most of the day there, alternating between studying, prayers, hymns, and drills. Then return home in the evening. Make dinner if no one else has. Retire to my chambers and read until I get tired enough to sleep.
Disruptions are usually minor and relatively common, so I've learned to improvise enough to get by.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
My faith, I'd estimate.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
For someone my age, I fear I'm dangerously naive. I've seen so little of the world in person, interacted with so few people different from myself.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
As stated earlier, I would have gotten out into the world at a younger age.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I consider myself extroverted, but nowhere near as much as Róisín.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Quite organized, but in my own way. What looks like perfectly ordered and logical progress to me often looks bizarre to others.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Fighting, singing, and speaking.
Catching subtle details, not falling for pranks, and anything involving fine precision and dexterity.

91. Do you like yourself?
Certainly.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
To travel the world, test myself in battle, face and defeat my people's and my goddess's enemies, and learn and discover and experience what the world has to offer.
I have no reason to be duplicitous.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Win a major, important battle or discover an ancient treasure or other notable historical event, location, or artifact.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Only five? Probably not too different from where I am now, just in a different location.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Either in battle and hoping my sacrifice is for a worthy cause, or of old age peacefully.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Pass my books along to Róisín and see to it that our research continues.
Return home and bid my farewells to the clergy.
Spend the rest of my time with my family.

If returning home was not an option:
Send messages via magic to the clergy in Craos and my family, informing them of the situation and passing my final wishes and farewells.
Spend the rest of my time with Róisín, or in meditation.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
How I fought, what for, why, and what I've learned and discovered.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Devout, noble, studious.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
At least from Róisín: Stick-in-the-mud, stubborn, spoilsport.

From most others: Dedicated, conservative, honest.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Nothing much. Siobhan's kind of my ideal of what I'd hope to be in a similar situation, given I had more drive and desire to put forth the effort. She's already done me one better than most things I can advise.

Maybe loosen up a bit for your sister's sake? I dunno.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Face Wed Mar 27, 2013 1:08 am

All right, let's get this over with.
1. What is your full name?
Felix Theodore Siegbert

2. Where and when were you born?
Right here in Westcrown some twenty-seven years ago.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Theodore and Ada Siegbert, just another poor couple struggling to make ends meet. They loved me, sure, but I always knew that I made things harder for them. They were good, honest folk that you don't see much of in Westcrown anymore.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
My parents couldn't afford to have another child.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live in what used to be a storage closet in an alleyway. It's not pretty, but it's home.

6. What is your occupation?
Dashing rogue, gentleman for hire, thief, con-artist, swashbuckler, jack of trades, attorney, sailor, freedom fighter, fence, information broker, actor, revolutionary...The list goes on.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Well, I'm handsome for starters. Slender, average height, brown hair, blue eyes, and wearing of course Westcrown's latest fashion choice of black breeches and a white shirt.

8. To which social class do you belong?
I like to think I'm in a class all my own.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I'm allergic to tyranny and pompous fools.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Smooth, calm, and alluring.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
I've been told that I say "It was worth a shot" on a numerous occasions.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
I'll tell you what's in mine if you tell me what's in yours.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
None that I've noticed.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Well, after my parents were taken by plague, I joined one of Westcrown's gangs of street rats. I stole what I needed and traded information for coin. It was tough, sure, but it prepared me for what was to come.

16. What is your earliest memory?
That would be the time my mother sung me to sleep after the feuding couple next door frightened me.

17. How much schooling have you had?
None at all. Being street-smart gets you farther in Westcrown than being book-smart.

18. Did you enjoy school?
I doubt I would have.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From experience and copying what others did.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I used to admire the knights of Westcrown, until I realized that they weren't people worthy of admiration.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Pretty well, I think.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A daring rogue who would stand up for those who couldn't defend themselves. Naive, yes, but I think it worked out pretty well.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Picking pockets was always a fun challenge. The other kids in the gang and I made it into a game to see who could get the most by nightfall.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was brave, rebellious, and adventurous. Old habits die hard.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I was good friends with the other children in the gang, even if I was the youngest and least experienced. They always looked out for one another and the eldest ones would keep the knights off our backs if we ever ran into them. I suppose they were the closest thing I had to a family when I was younger.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Let's see, I think I was around twelve or thirteen when I ran into a noble girl named...oh blast I can't remember her name.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Well, I'll just say that that noble girl I met when I was younger grew up to be quite a lady. She was a nobleman's daughter so it never amounted to much more than a few flings, sadly.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Well, I have plenty of reasons to be doing what I'm doing, in case you hadn't been listening.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
So far? I would say it's been this whole business with the Returners. I'm all for fighting the good fight and freeing Westcrown, but I wish I could be doing it in a way that's...less hazardous.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
A certain old man.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Now that's a fascinating tale that I do not have time for today. Perhaps I'll tell it in the future.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Well, we lost a good man recently. It's to be expected in our line of work, but I still feel like I could have prevented it.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Hah! The most evil thing I have done is to forget that poor girl's name. Now what was it again? Genevieve? Jasmine? Julia?

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Did you happen to forget who you were talking to?

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When I was seven and my parents fell ill. I was too young to know what to do. None of our neighbors would help and we had no money for a doctor. I did the best I could to take care of them, but they kept getting worse. Then came the morning when I found them still in their bed, blood on their lips. I cried for hours, trying to get them to wake up and tell me they were okay. I spent that night with them before leaving the next day.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
I'll confess, the first night I spent with, er, Jennifer? No that's not it. Anyways, I had a bit of stage fright that night, as most men do their first time. It was...awkward to say the least.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Only a fool wishes he could take back a mistake, but a wise man learns from it.

38. What is your best memory?
I have too many fond memories to choose just one. The time my father had earned some extra coin and took me to the bakery for a treat, the nights my mother would sing to me, the day my friends and I had pooled the gold we stole and were able to afford a hot meal for all of us, the day I first met...Janice? No, still not it.

39. What is your worst memory?
That too, has a list of contenders. I don't wish to speak of it.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I prefer to look on the brighter side of things, otherwise life can be quite dreadful.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Running into a certain someone.

42. What are your religious views?
Gods may walk with you, but they cannot guide you. Your path is yours to choose.

43. What are your political views?
Kings should not forget that they too are just men. They may rule, but that does not make them a god.

44. What are your views on sex?
It's good, what else needs to be said?

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I will not hesitate to take a life, but I do not enjoy it. Killing is never a pleasant matter, but it is sometimes a necessity.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Cutting a deal with infernal beings that have no business on this plane.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Someone needs to.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Live your life the way you choose and stand against those who would take away what is precious to you.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I have my secrets but I have no problems speaking my mind.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I do not hold any sympathy for those who think their wealth, status, or power grants them the right to bully others.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I will not forfeit my soul to an infernal for personal gain. It's not very smart, honestly.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
I enjoy living a little too much to consider that, but if I had to choose, I suppose I would die fighting to keep my freedom.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I can't afford to get on anyone's bad side. It's dangerous business.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
The two most important people to me are long gone.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
I respect my mother and father for not abandoning me even when it could have made their lives easier.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I don't have too many people I'd call friends anymore, but after falling in with the Returners, I've gained a couple of them. There's our spellcaster, a stunning woman who specializes in finding things, not unlike me. And then we have our ratfolk warrior, strong and valiant whose save dour lives more than once. There was also our former alchemist who, sadly, lost his life to a gang of thugs.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
I am available, ladies.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
I'd consider her to have been my first love. As I said, it was not to be.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I'm not too fussy.

60. How close are you to your family?
We were pretty close, despite our troubles.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Maybe I'll settle down when I'm a bit older.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
If there's a problem I can't solve on my own, I'll turn to a trusted ally.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
I trust the abilities of my fellow Returners to keep me alive when I'm off my game. All for one and one for all I believe the saying goes.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
All the fair maidens in the world.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
A certain old man for reasons I will not speak of.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I like to resolve my issues with other through calm, civilized discourse.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Yes, I tend to be good at it.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Being in a crowd makes it harder for enemies to spot you.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Not particularly.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Flirting, gallivanting, and the like.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
I would not place sentimental value in something that could be stolen.

72. What is your favorite color?
Orange.

73. What is your favorite food?
Hm, I enjoy that famous steak Mack cooks up on special occasions.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Romance novels. They give one ideas on what women like to hear.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Spending time with a lovely lady.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Mack's ale is my poison of choice.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
In bed with a lucky lady. Otherwise I'll spend the night at Mack's tavern with a pint of his ale.

78. What makes you laugh?
That comedy duo who performs plays in Westcrown on occasion. They're geniuses.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
With the things I've seen, you'd have to try pretty hard to shock me.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Hard to say, the shadowbeasts make doing anything at night a real challenge.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Find a nice quiet place and relax.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Plans are good, but one has to know how to improvise when it falls apart.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Hmm, I dislike it when people talk during plays.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, get breakfast, fight for freedom, call it a day.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
My charms, of course.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I'm not as strong as I should be.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Why would I ever want to do that?

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
My place is quite a mess. I avoid bringing women there.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Only three? Well, I am good at talking, thieving, and swordplay.
I'm bad at brawls, not being handsome, and exploring narrow spaces.

91. Do you like yourself?
Why yes. Yes I do.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
Well, it was about time for a revolution, so why not enjoy the ride?

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
See the people of Westcrown freed from oppression.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Having a night on the town with a lady friend.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
I'm too fond of living to consider that.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Tell the next pretty woman I see that I'm dying and I want to spend my last day with someone beautiful, then we have dinner, and finish our day in bed together.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I would like them to remember just how handsome I was.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Charming, graceful, and heroic.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Charming, graceful, and Jeannette! Jeannette was her name!

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
For a social rogue you sure do let the caster do all the talking. I have no one to blame but myself.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Ladybug Wed Mar 27, 2013 6:50 pm

1. What is your full name?
What is this, some sort of "Oooh, going to use your true name and suck your soul" ceremony scams? Róisín Quirke's all you need to know.

2. Where and when were you born?
About...none of your business years ago on the isle of Kissmearse.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Dad's Aodhán, Mom's Enya. He's a scribe; she's a priestess. We're not sure where 'Von got the urge to hit things from.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Siobhan? She's right over there, ask her. But make sure to account for the overwhelming aura of killjoy she's got. I'm not about to sit here all day and name the little ones.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
'Von and I travel around here and there, but we're from Craos.

6. What is your occupation?
Traveling scholar and inquisitive soul. That's right, I'm smart for a living. You should try it for a hobby.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Not that you'll much care for half the answer...I'm fairly slender with the complexion of one who doesn't spend much time outdoors. I've long brown hair and bluish-purple eyes, and 'Von tells me I dress like a hobo. I think the outdoorsy look makes Zorra look less out of place.

Also I can turn into a big spider.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Does anyone really care?

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I'm allergic to effort.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I speak quickly because my ideas are more important than yours, and you should listen.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
<placeholder>

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Magic.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I turn spidery pretty often. And I have a tendency to make doors where there’re walls, figuratively speaking. ...And literally. ...Maybe more holes than doors. ...Look, stupid time-wasting problems are meant to be bypassed entirely!

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Long. Both of them.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Eating bugs. I've grown out of it.

17. How much schooling have you had?
LOTS.

18. Did you enjoy school?
YES.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Reading. Also 'Von and the parents.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
'Von, but if you tell her, I swear you'll not escape the web alive. And yes, I will eat you.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Fine.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well, I wanted hands, for one thing. Got 'em, too. Heck yeah.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Before my metamorphosis, climbing was about it. After, I'd say studying with Siobhan. And having thumbs. Having thumbs is awesome.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Curiosity and hyperactivity. 'Von says I have to grow out of the second one.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Well, 'Von liked me.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
I think that answer’s worth a few platinum. Whatcha got?

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
I’m pretty sure that not only is that a sign for an entirely different season than I cocooned in, but astrology’s bunk.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Well, when you're a spider living around a lot of other spiders and spider-people, and they're all magical, it tends to rub off.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
My first metamorphosis.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
'Von, despite my best efforts.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Casting my first spell.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Sometimes I wonder if I should have maybe looked to my physical fitness more, but you'd better not tell 'Von.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Evil is such a strong word. I'm a free spirit.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Of course not! That would imply my getting caught.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
We had a near miss with a fire one year.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
So once, one of my spells hit the web I was on, and-it's not funny!

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I might've learned a little bit about swords. Might help. Or left earlier.

38. What is your best memory?
It felt pretty nice how proud everyone was after my last metamorphosis.

39. What is your worst memory?
‘Von and I’ve had some near misses, and I’m not much of a healer. Any of those would rate pretty high.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
S’pose it depends, really. I don’t think either - they both are pretty reliant on luck and random chance, and I don’t know how I feel on luck.

41. What is your greatest fear?
I’d be lost without my sister.

42. What are your religious views?
I follow Arachne, same as the rest of the family.

43. What are your political views?
Politics gets in the way of everything.

44. What are your views on sex?
Go away; I’m reading.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Sure. Acceptable when it needs doing and un when it doesn’t.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
I had a list somewhere. I think Zorra made it a nest. I should add that to the list.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Sounds pretty similar to that luck I don’t put stock into. If you love someone, marry ‘em, and don’t fret about “But what if someone better comes along?” cause if that’s your worry, you’ll never be in the moment to enjoy what you’ve got.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Do what you can when you can and strive toward doing what you want.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I mostly don’t sugarcoat things, but I’ll tell a white lie here and there.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Don’t much care for the Anhuri. Tinkering with the borders of life and death is one thing. Putting them in charge is quite another.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Enter a fair fight. Look, I’m sorry, if I wanted to fight fair, I’d be training with Siobhan about how to do it and not spending my time learning about the innermost workings of the universe. Priorities.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Siobhan.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I’m very honest with people. Maybe frank is a better word. I don’t much care for the opinions of most. If you’re one of the few, then yeah, I’m a little nicer.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Siobhan. Been there for me since I hatched both times and still pulls me out of the fire.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Siobhan’s got more focus than I can aspire to for damn certain, and she’s always got time for me.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Grow up with only the one sibling anywhere near your odd age, and you’d only have the one, too.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
I have a familiar. That count? Her name’s Zorra.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Mystery is my boyfriend.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Let you know when it comes up.

60. How close are you to your family?
‘Von and I are like shadows to each other, despite the bickering. Was always close to Dad, too.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No, I dunno.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Siobhan.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
The big spider-lady with a sword, of course. She always has.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Gee whiz. I have no idea, but I think my sister and best friend might.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The man who invented physical fitness.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Conflict is interesting.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Sure! I like watching things go downhill rapidly.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I like casting spells at them.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Only if they’ve something to teach me.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Reading, mostly. Alchemy’s up there, too.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My book. Dad kept it when he was younger, and it’s a great help to my studies on top of being a little piece of home.

72. What is your favorite color?
White.

73. What is your favorite food?
I like spicy things.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Damn near everything.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Anything with a solid story.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Meh. ‘Von says I’m quite odd enough, thanks.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
I don’t keep track.

78. What makes you laugh?
Funny things.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Don’t much care for people swatting spiders.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Slip something into ‘Von’s bedroll.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Fire spells.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Yes.

83. What are your pet peeves?
<placeholder>

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, study my spells, wander, bother my sister. Not much to disrupt, really.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I learn fast.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I’ve a chronic case of labor aversion.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Eh...maybe be a little more social?

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I’m not a fan of those of the sentient living persuasion.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Organized. Mess’s less stress, but leave the alkali too close to the fire ONE time, and never hear the end of it...

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Magic, alchemy, exploring; fighting, negotiating, following rules

91. Do you like yourself?
What’s not to like?

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I wanted to travel. ‘Von was wanting to travel as well. Waiting on her meant I’d have a traveling buddy. Not my fault there’s a strict correlation between seeking out things and finding them.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Do something worth remembering.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Somewhere new, I hope.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
I’d rather not, though I readily admit to having about eight or nine human lifespans already behind me. There’s still so much I haven’t seen or done.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Read up on any spells I know to do something about it. Tell ‘Von. Spend the rest of the day with her. No fighting.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Finding something important., I guess.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Inquisitive, adaptive, goal-minded

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Lazy, impulsive, outlaw

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
You know...sometimes there’s a reason for a rule. Like maybe physics. Give your sister less of a hard time; you know she’s only looking out for you. And if you really want to leave a mark on the world, maybe spend a little more time with the practice than the theory.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Ladybug Mon Apr 01, 2013 2:43 pm

1. What is your full name?
I go by Siri Lightfoot these days, though I guess Lightfoot’s more a nickname.

2. Where and when were you born?
Port Haven, 9064

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Mom’s Lisette. She’s a seamstress and a lot more patient than anyone has any right to be.

Dad’s an elf, and I apparently take after him. I think I should be insulted.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
No.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I’ve a bed in the Kestalian temple like the other priests. Pretty spartan. People are nice, though.

6. What is your occupation?
I’m a knight. I’m still pretty new to it.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Well, I’m pretty tall. Little over 6’, not a lot of excess fat. I guess wiry’s the term? Blond hair, green eyes. Four arms, antennae pokin’ out of my forehead, grayish-purple carapace, compound buggy eyes, and greenish-brown wings with darker spots.

I tend to dress light. Black pants and high boots, a dark wrap-around sort of tunic - not a lot of styles accommodate extra bodily protrusions. I’ve got a custom chain shirt that works with ‘em, though. Helps. I tend to stay covered with a hooded cloak.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Clergy nowadays.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I’m a recovering kleptomaniac and allergic to bullshit.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Left. Both of ‘em.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I don’t talk too fancy. I like to get to the point and done with. More important things than chit-chat.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
<placeholder>

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Lotsa miscellany. Lockpicks, glass cutter, spare knife. Think I got some dice and a deck of cards, too. Don’t ask.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I try to keep a close eye on my surroundings and security, that count?

Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Tough. Never enough to eat and such. Learned a lot from it, though.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Mom stitching up a dress I ripped.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Pfeh. I can read.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Meh, never went.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Picked ‘em up on the streets o’ Haven.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Any pickpocket older’n me counted. Had to be doin’ something right to make that living.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Mom and I didn’t see eye to eye about my...supplementary income.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Not poor.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Always did like the rush from doin’ a job right.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Resourcefulness, stubbornness

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Not really? I had a few sort of friends in my gang. There was Shaath, he was a kobold. There were the twins Mia and Aaron. Not a big gang, nor the best, but we got by.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Ain’t happened.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Look, I was thirteen when I got turned into a moth. Think it was a bit early if it happened before, and it’s not like to happen now.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Joined up with the church of Kestal after a couple of her servants saved me from the cocoon. Really helped me turn my life around.

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
No doubt getting changed into this.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Valko, my mentor.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Knighthood. Never even dreamed it possible as a kid.

32. What is your greatest regret?
All the thievin’ I did.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I’ve hurt more’n my share of people and probably didn’t need to.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Eheheheheheh...

Actually, no! Siri Lightfoot doesn’t have a criminal history. Technicality!

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Last thing I saw as my old self’d do it - crazy Khemosite known for kidnapping and experimenting smiling down at me, couldn’t even move. Still see it in my sleep sometimes.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Well, getting not only caught on a job but having to be rescued weeks later as a different species by a damned paladin rates pretty high, but I could just be easily bothered.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Iunno. I’d like to not have tried robbing that last mark, but if I hadn’t, I’d’ve probably met a worse end than getting this second chance. I guess I wish I’d wised up sooner?

38. What is your best memory?
Getting knighted.

39. What is your worst memory?
Getting cocooned, though Mom’s face the day I left was pretty bad, too. That’s probably a better answer to that other question.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Seriously? Seriously. I’ve seen the worst society’s got to offer and lived off its scraps, seen just how overlooked laws go if you’re too low t’count in so-called civilized people’s eyes, and you expect me to expect good in the world?! Best you can hope for is a silver lining - most of the world’s a tarnished tin if you’re even lucky enough t’get real metal.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Never wanna be helpless like that again.

42. What are your religious views?
I follow the Dame of Atonement for obvious reasons. Just ‘cause the world sucks don’t mean people don’t need a second chance now and again.

43. What are your political views?
Nothin’ good can come of it.

44. What are your views on sex?
Wouldn’t know, ain’t like to find out.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Yeah. More’n I really should be. Should be a last resort, but really, sometimes you just know a guy ain’t sorry for what he’s done and needs to be shut down afore he can hurt more people.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
I ain’t about to rate ‘em, but there’s quite a lot people can do that’d qualify as evil. Torture’s pretty up there, though. Killing’s bad enough, but at least that’s mostly quick and ends for the poor soul. Can’t fathom the joy some get from leavin’ a victim alive to suffer.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Iunno.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Not getting caught.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Don’t see the point in puttin’ up artifice. Too much work to track lies. About the only thing I hide’s my name, and that hardly matters.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Don’t care for Khemosites. They’re just wrong.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Torture. Just...you didn’t know people who went missin’ by his hand. We even found some of ‘em after, a few times.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My mom.

Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Depends how dumb their questions are, don’t it? I don’t think it changes much, but people who know me tend to be a mite more patient about it.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Mom’s always been there, even when I know I didn’t deserve it.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Valko. Taught me everything I need t’know about the church and really set me on the right path. I owe him a lot, and I’m not about t’forget.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Don’t really have any friends. Used to get on pretty well with Shaath, but he left me for dead when I got caught - it’s fair, we all know that’s how it works -, and I’ve not sought him out.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nah

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Nah

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Iunno. Not grossed out by carapace?

60. How close are you to your family?
I keep in touch with Mom pretty well.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No...I’m a bug.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
The church

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Kestal

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Mom would. I think the folks at the temple would.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Toss-up between my dad and the sick freak grabbin’ us off the streets. Though at least the latter had proof of his existence, I guess.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Depends how wrong they are.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Don’t like to, but I can.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
No. Just don’t like people.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
I care they listen when I tell ‘em t’clear a room, there’s danger. Otherwise, screw ‘em.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like flying. Probably the best perk of everything that's happened.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My journal. Mom got it for me when I got knighted, wrote a nice poem in the front. Reminds me of home when I can’t be there.

72. What is your favorite color?
Silver.

73. What is your favorite food?
I like sweets. No, it’s NOT cause I’m a bug, they just taste good.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Don’t much care for books. Never had much time for ‘em.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
I like a good fight. Music’s all right.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Pff. Nothin’ makes you an easier mark than impairin’ yourself. I need my wits.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Gamblin’ in the taverns. Don’t give me that look, I play fair.

78. What makes you laugh?
Things I find funny.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
People just openly discussin’ horrible things they’ve gotten away with. Look, lotsa thieves are just gettin’ by. Ain’t no excuse for kidnapping and beatin’ the snot out of people what don’t deserve it.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Climb something or fly somewhere high. I like heights.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Sparring.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Plans are for nerds.

83. What are your pet peeves?
I don’t like high-pitched noises. And it’s really annoying when people think I’m dumb enough to walk into a fire just cause some moths do. Yes, it’s a torch. I see that. It wasn’t funny the first fifty times, either.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I just do whatever. If I got a mission, I work on that. If I don’t, I keep in good shape.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I don’t give up easy.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I’m a recovering thief. Relapses happen.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d like to look a little more normal.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I can find my stuff just fine, thanks.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good - fighting, sneaking, keepin’ an eye out

Bad - socializing, comforting people, politicking

So basically if you need saving, I’m great for that so long as you don’t want to feel good about yourself during.

91. Do you like yourself?
I’m all right.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
Look, I owe damn near everything to Kestal, and getting sent on a job here and there is like the least I can do to pay her back.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I think I’ve kinda already done it - wanted t’turn my life around for the better, and considering I used to be basically starving in the gutter...

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Dunno. Just hoping I ain’t screwed up.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
I wanna go out fighting.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Don’t need no three things. I’d get home to spend it with Mom...or find some way to get a sending if I couldn’t make it.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I just want to not be a fuckup.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Pragmatic, persistant, honest

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Cynical, stubborn, coarse

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Hon...lighten up. I get you’ve been burned in the past, but...don’t take life so seriously. No one gets out alive. Just try and enjoy yourself now and again.

A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Empty Re: A RARE AND EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Post by Swifto Thu Jan 30, 2014 12:31 am

(With apologies in advance to any world inconsistencies)

1. What is your full name?
I was born Leicestershire Atwood. I am now Sir Colonel Leicestershire Atwood. Those days are long past, though. You may call me Sir, or Atwood.

2. Where and when were you born?
I hail from the capital city of Galadae.

3. Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
They were kind and responsible parents. My father was a civil servant, and my mother a seamstress. They allowed me to pursue any vocation I wished. I chose the military, specifically the medic branch.

4. Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
I was an only child. However, My earliest memory is that of a miscarriage nearly killing my mother. That memory is what spurned me to learn the art of healing.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
I wander as I will, with whomever will follow.

6. What is your occupation?
I retired from the Galadae military with the rank of Colonel. I passed my medals to my son once I took up the mantle of adventuring. Now I wander the world, making fair sport of the evils that plague it.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Wrinkled old men are hardly a pleasant sight, but if I'm humble about it, I've kept some measure of looks to me. Fair height, broad shoulders, a good head of hair still, and a mustache I've proudly maintained over the decades. I couldn't be without it.

8. To which social class do you belong?
I began a simple citizen, but my work in the military means my children and I are of the noble caste.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
There are a hundred things that plague an old man, not least of them a bad knee from when I had to treat an arrow wound myself. I did poorly.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I write with my left hand.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Aged.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Right, then." "Come now!"

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Some pain medicine, a smokestick, a mirror, some tobacco and my pipe.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Some say I'm too commanding, even in my personal life.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Warm and loving. My parents did well by me, and I them. I received a good education, and they encouraged me to become stronger in body as well. Come time I joined the military, I couldn't thank them enough.
May they rest in peace.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Blood, and my mother lying very still and very pale. I had never been so frightened in my life...

17. How much schooling have you had?
I graduated seminary, attended a university course on medicine, then attended a harsh regiment at a military field school, where I was taught the ways of the medic with first-hand training.

18. Did you enjoy school?
It was an invigorating time of my life. Every day, I learned ways to save a life. In time, I've managed to use nearly all those techniques. Some to great effect, some to not.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Either taught by a drill sergeant, such as the use of a bow, or self-taught, such as how to hunt. I also learned much from my wife, and more still from my son and daughter.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
Hearing tell of the tales that speak of Rinn Naltasi were exactly the sort of thing a young boy loves to hear. Her seccession from old Olorunium, that struggles that came with that, and of course, bringing down the Child of Perdition Tiamat. Inspiring.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My mother and father remained on the best of terms with me, up until they passed on. I never knew any of my uncles or aunts, though my mother spoke of them often.
When I was assigned to a corp, I began to know and love my brothers in arms as though they were family. I got used to losing them, after a few decades. It's a fact of life, Emdor bless their souls.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I thought it would be too difficult to become a medic, so for a spell I thought to become a baker. My father taught me better, though, and encouraged me to damn any obstacles in my path. If it was easy to get, then it wasn't worth getting, he said.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I enjoyed many different sports when I was young. I'm much too old for any of them now.
Well... I'm a fair hand at archery still, to this day. My bad knee doesn't affect that too badly.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Loyalty, good work ethic, and entirely too strong of morals.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I had a good many friends, though none stuck with me beyond school. We all went our separate ways. The friends I made in the army were the real ones.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
She was very cute, and I very young. It was an innocent time, but even at that age, I knew I had an appreciation for a good woman.

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
I studied many things in university, before I joined the army. Not everything I studied closely was related to medicine, let me tell you. Not many men went into that field of study, and fewer still with the sterling good looks I had back then.
Ahhh, those were the days.
Then I met my wife, whilst deployed in Olympia. She was badly injured, and I restored her to health. I took a liking to her, and she to me. It was a time that she had lost much of her family, and I many of my friends. We supported each other in our hardship. I married her two years later.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Pulling my mother from Death's door inspired me to help prevent others from coming so close to their end. I've done my best to do just that.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
The birth of my children. No medal or ceremony can bring such pride as creating life.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
The fine men I've had the honour to call brothers in arms.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
It was just behind the front lines. I was working with my corps of medics, aiding some wounded soldiers in a tent. Then, a few less honourable soldiers from the enemy charged the tent, set fire to it, and tried to slay us. The sergeant I was healing at that moment handed me his Longsword, with a look in his eyes telling me he trusted me with it, and to give them what for. And what for I gave them! With a blend of sword and shouting, I drove them back, buying enough time for the remaining medics to take the wounded out of the burning tent, just as reinforcements arrived and took care of the bastards.
The sergeant that handed me his sword lived just long enough to give the commander of the reinforcements glowing praise for me. They were his last words. I was promoted, given medals, and allowed to keep the blade. I have it with me always. It serves to remind me of that sergeant's praise, which I strive to live up to every day.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Despite my best efforts, many men have died under my command. It is simply something I've had to endure. I wish I could remember more of them, out of respect.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I had to wage war on hungry guerilla insurgents. They were desperate men, sometimes no more than boys. But they would kill me, so I had to kill them. Emdor forgive me for doing my task efficiently.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
If a man kills one man, he is a murderer. If he kills a hundred, he is a hero. Thus, I have no charges against me.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
My momentarily lifeless mother.
Horrors of the world be damned, nothing can bring a man lower than that sight.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
A very uncouth person saw me walking with my wife, and he began to shoot his mouth off for holding hands with an orc. By law, I could not strike him, but I gave him a thorough verbal beatdown. He didn't listen, and heckled on. The damn fool had started to draw a crowd. I left before it escalated.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Not one thing. I've walked this path proudly, and I will see it to its end as Emdor has planned for me.

38. What is your best memory?
My daughter first wrapping her tiny hand around my finger... She's grown so much.

39. What is your worst memory?
It was a particularly bad battle. Neither I or my men wish to think about it...

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
There is good in all things, no matter how buried it is.

41. What is your greatest fear?
That I'll die without having made a sufficient sacrifice. I'll happily lay down my life to hold the line while my men retreat, but I refuse to simply have my throat slit in my sleep.

42. What are your religious views?
My lord Emdor protects and judges, so all may go where and when they must. I am an instrument to this end, and I happily serve to it.

43. What are your political views?
Many governments are full of corruption, and so I wish to have as little to do with them as possible.

44. What are your views on sex?
Even though my wife never limited me to whom I could bed, I'm much too old a man to draw the gaze of a woman anymore.

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
There are many circumstances in which I could kill, but none of them involve underhanded tactics. I engage them on even footing, or I don't engage them at all. If they're the sort to ignore my gracious tiding, then I shall spare them no fury.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Disrespect their given word, or to fraternize with devils.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
My wife was evidence of such. I believe everyone has their one true soul mate out there. The trick is to simply find them.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
To live as you will, and to do it at your best.
Good food, good drink, a good companion and a warm bed at night always helps as well, though.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I've nothing to hide. I care not for how I'm judged by mortals. It is Emdor's judgement alone that I care for.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Do you uphold the law, observe fair play, and live with honour? Then I've no quarrel with you.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
Attack from behind, tell a lie, or kill without reason.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
If there is a cause worthy of my ultimate sacrifice, then I will happily do so to further that cause. But for nothing else will I sleep for, save for when my lord calls me home.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I treat my comrades as family, and a stranger on the street as a friend. If you don't abide by the law of the land or of your lord, then you do not deserve my aid.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My wife. She was my guiding light in dark times, and was always there with good food and a warm embrace.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
It's unfair to us mortals if I name my lord Emdor here. Rather I shall go with the unnamed sergeant that gave me the chance to prove myself. May he rest in peace.

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
Forever and always, my wife.
She had a rough-hewn smile that some might not have noticed, but I adored. She wasn't the kindest or the most patient woman around, but her and I had an understanding that couldn't be equaled. We rarely shared words, simply because we didn't need to.
My favourite times with her was when we were both in the study. She would be reading, I would be playing the piano. We were content simply being in the same room.
I hope my daughter and her husband are making good use of that study. I've no need for that house, so I bestowed it to her.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
Her name was Margaret. A fine specimen of a woman if there ever was one.

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
I miss her dearly... But, it was her time. Emdor showed no favour, not even to me, and I can hardly argue with Him.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I'm too old to be starting that all over again. No thank you.

60. How close are you to your family?
I never knew any of my extended family, but I remained close to my parents until their death. My wife's family was an Orc tribe, which she ran away from. Nowadays, it's just my children, their spouses, and I.
I wonder if I'll be a grandfather before my end...

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
My daughter inherited much from her mother and her father. Stubborn and determined, she would have had a fantastic career if she had joined the military. She became a scholar instead, and I'm proud of that.
My son didn't receive quite the same fire that his sister got, but he's a much kinder person for it. He teaches healing at a university.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
My lord Emdor, of course.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
My battle brothers, in time past. They've moved on, though.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My children would grieve, but only for a time. They know better than to miss me for too long.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
I've never met someone that didn't deserve some measure of respect. They all deserve the right to life, which is a god-given gift. Some abuse that gift, though, and my lord has tasked me with stopping them.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I'll stand my ground through hell and fire, but I don't enjoy needless conflict.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
To a fault. Age may have weakened my resolve, though.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
I can cheer a group of soldiers, I can organize a citizen militia, and I can be a town crier in a pinch, but I'm no performer. I played piano for an audience of one only.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
The only judgement that matters to me at the end of my day is that of Emdor's. Everyone else matters a bit less.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I enjoy a good hunt, a good book, and a bit of lonely time at a piano.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My silver wedding ring.

72. What is your favorite color?
I've always had a thing for green.

73. What is your favorite food?
My wife's filet mignon. Absolutely exquisite.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
A good thriller, or historical document. If it's my free time, I tend to avoid books on the military. My job requires enough of that as it is.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
No matter what it is, so long as it's spent with that special someone, it's worthwhile.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
I smoke my pipe occasionally, and I enjoy an aged whiskey, but anything heavier than that is too much for my old body.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Time was that Saturday's were the private night alone with my wife and I. Nowadays, not so much.

78. What makes you laugh?
A good comedy play is always enjoyable.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I've seen much in my time. I hope I don't come across anything that can shock me again.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Read a book or play some piano.

81. How do you deal with stress?
A spot of hunting always calms me. Even some time at an archery range is good for the nerves.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
When a commander acts without a plan, people die.

83. What are your pet peeves?
People acting without any idea of why they're doing it irks me. They should have a plan, or at least a purpose that they're working towards!

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
These days, I wake up, and I pray. I say everything to my lord Emdor, hiding nothing and having no shame. I vent my soul to Him. In return, he grants me the powers I need to do His work.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
When I set myself to a task, I cannot be stopped or swayed.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Many people don't much appreciate my determined nature.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Being a little more sociable would be nice, but it's a bit late to change that now.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Bit here, bit there.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Everything has a place.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.

91. Do you like yourself?
In full humility; I am an incredible person, just well past his prime.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
Better to be out here doing good than stewing in a large house alone and bored and feeling sorry for myself.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
To further a good cause with my dying breath.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
If I'm still around that long, then I should find a bigger cause to fight for.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Bow or sword in hand, holding the impossible line.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
I would ponder my life, thinking fondly on all that happened in its span.
I would then play a solemn song on a piano.
Then I would pray to Lord Emdor, and go out and fight a fight worth fighting that I know I can't win.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
The lives that I've saved.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Forceful, determined, honest.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Forceful, determined, honest.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?
You got shit figured out, Atwood. I don't have to tell you a goddamn thing.
