I'm unapologetically style over substance with my faves. Best ghosts are Misdreavus, Froslass, Drifloon/Chandelure. Yeah they're weak, but it's a balloon/chandelier, and it's adorable.

Chandelure is pretty awesome, I'd put it up around fourth or fifth.

Ghosts are really one of my favorite types overall, I can think of very few Ghost-types I don't like. And there's finally enough different combinations now that if you really wanted to you could probably make an all-Ghost team. Chandelure, Jellicent, Rotom, Golurk, that's a lot of your major necessary types right there. Toss in Spiritomb and/or Honedge to get something that resists Dark a little, until we get hold of a Ghost/Fighting type, then fill the last slot with whatever you like =) Can probably mix and match some of those to get what you want out of the team.

Nah, for the particular mythical creature Golett and Golurk were supposed to be evoking, Ghost/Ground was the perfect combination. Still, a Ghost/Fighting combination would indeed be awesome. Just need to find a suitable inspiration for it.

That's one of the things I like about Pokemon, almost everything in it has some kind of mythical historical basis that you can track down.

Hey ho here's some random sketches I did. Sorry about the quality.

Old Cloud sketch I did while waiting out at a festival once. Liked it enough to upload it

Just watched eps 20 of Season 2 of Wakfu and I just had to draw this asshat.
Spoiler:

And finally a sketch of some guys who were at the bar tonight. I've been drawing from real-life more and frankly it has been a whole lot of fun.

Stuff

I got excited about painted elves when Bella suggested one for a Bard character and I drew these concept ideas. Top one on the left was a practice sketch and full body is what I was thinking of for my Bard.

What're those scale-esque things on her right fore-arm?

They were tattoos until I screwed up inking. I decided it's a weird scale armor gauntlet thing. I dunno, fantasy costume design.

I can't figure out thumbnails but whatever.

Doodling some different stuff and finally nailing down a design for a protagonist. Extraordinarily rough idea for a rival character included.

Still doodling. Tried a reference, with limited results.

And English class doodle, which is precisely the point where I realized she looks too much Link at this point. Back to the drawing board.

I was doodling in class and Gravity Falls happened. It was just supposed to be Season 2 antagonists but Gideon worked himself in there somehow. I will definitely try drawing more Bill-Dipper and GIFfany in the future. (I was so excited to see they had Paul Robertson do more sprite art for the show.)

The zombie has some practice shading on him but it really doesn't show up well.

Nice stuff =D Haven't seen GIFfany's episode yet but she looks darned creepy. Pretty good job of mimicking their style.

Doodle exercise. I had a specific scene playing in my head of a good guy trying to get the drop on some bad guys and I really wanted to draw the sequence of expressions one of the baddies would have as the hero failed miserably at being stealthy.
You can really tell how frustrated I was with those dang lightning bolts in her hair.

Shovel Knight

Post by Face on Wed Nov 12, 2014 5:16 pm

Shovel Knight fan art which conveniently doubles shading practice. Shading is one of those things I never practiced much while drawing because, frankly, I was never good at it. I would usually just give up and refuse to shade any sketches because I knew it would never look right. Like the doodle I posted not too long ago, I'm trying to go outside my usual parameters and work on elements I really struggle with more often (consistency and expression in the former) as well as actually putting something down when an idea comes to me. I'm actually really proud of how this one turned out, it's almost exactly what I was thinking of at the time.

I really like the expressions and stature changes on Lightning Lady there.
.....wait, is she from Steven Universe?

Shovel Knight there is ace. I'd love to see your take on the Boss Knights from that game.

Nope, though she does look very Steven Universe-y. I actually tried drawing her in this first pic.

Face does fanart

Kuvira doodle while I was watching the latest Legend of Korra episode. I used the show's style primarily rather than my own, and I'm pleased with how it came out.

Other than the reference lines (or whatever they're called) being pretty visible, this looks great! I somehow recognized it immediately as a Korra character, even though I've only seen season 1.

You should experiment more with that style. (and draw Tenzin while you're at it)

I completely forgot to post this when I doodled it months ago. I still have not beaten Xenoblade, but eventually, someday, when I stop taking breaks with it.

And then terrible phone quality doodle of the new Daredevil. Hot damn this show rocks.
