Face can draw! Sometimes!

Post by Face on Thu May 24, 2012 11:53 pm

Rivalry thing aka something silly.
Spoiler:

Drake then went on to get all the Kanto badges and become champion while Nick went to sulk on a mountain.
(You have no idea how many times I had to fix Nick's head in that last one. No idea. I am going to change the Winters head shape because of this.)

Hypothetical Triton drawing! (Apologies for phone quality)
Spoiler:
This was meant to be really quick and simple but I ended up adding more detail with every line. I'm actually pretty impressed with it. The design was bouncing around in my head for a while and I never got around to asking Lady if I could or not so one night I was like "Let's do this!" So I did. I have no idea what design he should have on his shirt so I didn't bother.

I draw! Sometimes! Honestly!
Part of a WIP. It was done so I thought I could scan it. Lot of things I don't like about it, but it turned out far better than a lot of what I've done lately so I'm proud of it actually.
Spoiler:
Matt is one of those characters that I will always default to when I need to sketch something.

Spoiler:
The other part of this picture that I actually finished some time ago! I wanted to draw a full team I'd thought of for him (Noctowl, Toxicroak, Bisharp, Sharpedo, Dusknoir) but there wasn't enough room on the page. I'll need to draw Nick with a Froslass at some point.

Also I felt like sketching Shea the other night.
Spoiler:
I wanted her to have camo pants but I did not want to potentially wreck a decent sketch with a bunch of squiggles all over her legs.

(Not ripping this out of my sketchbook so lighting is off)

Sketch of a character of mine named Eden. Not one I'm especially proud of but I'm still trying to get a feel for drawing her. I'll probably add more on later.

A sketch of Marceline and Princess Bubblegum I did back in November for Roomie when he was dropping by to visit. Kind of sloppy but eh.

Oh hey, you're pretty good at mimicking Adventure Time's artstyle.

To boost your internet notoriety, you should capitalize on that.

I actually would rather try an attempt at drawing them in my style at some point. I at least tried to make them not all noodle-y.

I was up late one night and this popped onto my paper. I wanted to try Elegy in a fancy dress.

My first thought was "That looks like a sarcastic grin on her face."

And thusly; you captured Elegy perfectly.

Pokemon A Day

Post by Face on Sat Oct 19, 2013 4:05 pm

So I'm going through one of my classic manias again and with all the buzz about X and Y just being released, I'm nuts about Pokemon again. (And usually if I'm not crazy about something else, I'll just default to Pokemon)

So I had an idea; I'm going to draw a Pokemon each day as a way to keep my skills(?) honed. Suggest a Pokemon for me and even if I don't like it, I'll draw it. I may not post one every day but I will post all of them when I can even if I don't like them. (I can redraw them anyways)

I'll try experimenting with styles and methods too, so they're not all going to be in the usual sketchy form like everything else posted here.

I'm torn between going for my favorite with Misdreavus and being a jerk and going for something really hard to draw like Skarmory.

Porygon line
Misdreavus line
Charmander line
Any of the Gen2 starters' lines
Snivy line
Deino line
Larvesta/Volcarona

No particular preference, those just happen to be my favorites =)

I can always do both! Misdreavus and Skarmory are two of my favorite Pokemon so it'll be fun.

Wow I was not expecting that many. Guess that gives me a good queue to start with!

Poke-A-Day Number 1!

Post by Face on Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:40 pm

Saturday's Pokemon! Misdreavus is actually my second favorite Ghost-type and I absolutely adore its design. I remember when Gold and Silver came out how excited I was to finally catch a pure Ghost (Why the Ghastly line were dual-typed with Poison I'll never know, though I'm assuming to give them an extra weakness aside from other Ghosts.)

(I originally wanted do this in charcoal but shading with pencil felt more comfortable.)

Out of curiosity who's your first?

Misdreavus is pretty much tied with Porygon (and their respective evolutionary lines) for my favorite Pokemon of all time.

If your favourite ghost type is Golurk, I'm going to be very upset.

Love the picture, though. <3

Duskull would my favorite Ghost-type, though now that I think about it it's probably a tie with Misdreavus since they're both basically floating heads...Like some other Ghost types.

Of course Golurk is one of my favorites! There's so many cool Ghost-types, it's hard to pick one.

Froslass would be my third. So I probably should go ahead and add her to the list of requests =)
